anyone know about muscle tears or strains?
I think I might have a slight muscle tear in my forearm. I think it was from listing too heavy weight when working out. I don't feel anything if I don't use the muscle but if I try to do a curl I can feel a twinge of pain in a small spot in my forearm.
Does this stuff usually heal? :Oh crap |
Muscle tear will heal, yes.
Unless an arm has been completely cut off. If an arm has been completely cut off, a doctor may be able to attach the arm back to the body with stitches. However, the arm needs to be freezed with ice and the transplant should be done soon. Probably within 24 hours or so. |
I have the same problem in my left arm. You need to rehab it, or it will stick around and may get worse, particularly if you go heavy on curls or rows. What has worked for me is high-rep concentration curls. Do 3 sets of 20 to 30 reps, twice a week with light weight for 4 weeks. Alternatively, you could use resistance bands to do your bicep curls instead of weights, making sure to do a good warm-up set at the beginning. The bands actually help heal these kinds of injuries. With either approach, make sure to end a set early if you feel sharp pain.
