Given Poker.org sale, I think you're looking in the right ballpark now...nothing recently compared remotely to the power of poker.ext, which is responsible for record sales in now at least a handful of extensions, but its sale in .org should help other strong keyword .orgs like yours. What I am saying is he's trying to get a premium price for a .org in today's economy, which means he's smoking crack.

I can get a site already ranked almost #1 for the term "milf" in Google cheaper than he's selling this .org domain which is hardly even ranked for the term "milf" currently. Why would I buy a domain which is a .org making hardly any money when I can buy a site that's already very profitable?

Yes, it was just one sale, but the recent Poker.org sale crushed the 2nd largest public .org sale to date...over 5 times the sales price of it. Now is honestly the LEAST surprising time to be asking for a premium price for a .org.

I can understand the rest of what you're saying, but you're forgetting the other benefits of having a good domain besides simply being able to rank for the term.

I only deal with .com's personally and I haven't forgotten the benefits of having a good .com :winkwink:

nice domain, I'd hold out for $65,000, you can keep it, put an auto blog on it and hire one of Gene's guys to re-write the auto post and "nofollow" the affiliate links.

That plus backlinks should do very well for you... THEN sell. :)
