Anyone using social networking sites to promote adult?

I saw a myspace page from a sponsor who runs a softcore babe affiliate program and was wondering if anyone has ever tried using myspace, twitter, or facebook to get traffic to your sites. Please share your experiences if you have. Thanks!

digitaldivas 03-11-2010 04:53 AM

I am using all three, yes, it works :)

sexxxboom 03-11-2010 05:06 AM

does myspace, twitter, or facebook allow porn o erotic content in TOS?

I would love to know how you use Facebook for this as they are pretty damn strict when it comes to pornographic content.

Twitter I use to promote new sets on my blog, you can't have any explicit images for your avatar or background, though.

Myspace I have no idea, never used it, every page I've seen looks like it has been designed by a 10 year old that was let loose in a room with a copy of Frontpage Express and MS Paint.

halfpint 03-11-2010 06:22 AM

You link the social networking pages to a softcore site then have links on the softcore site to a hardcore site....... simples and if you look hard enough on certian big social networking sites they do allow nsfw links..but I aint teling you which ones ..you have to work for your $$$ :)

digitaldivas 03-11-2010 07:26 AM

common sense says that it probably isn't the brightest idea to put porn on mainstream social site. My network runs the gamut from "High End Erotic Art" to Foot and Pantyhose fetish to Adult Directories and Indexes... Like halfpint says, it's all a very intricate formulae... For me, it's all about the links. And every concept I own, compliments another.

...And I am not even looking to build traffic right now, I am finishing the concepts first.

Horny Dude 03-11-2010 11:14 AM

I use Twitter for my softcore blog, but the traffic sucks. Twitter traffic in general sucks, even for my mainstream stuff, the conversion is crap. I tried using You Tube for my exgf sites, but my videos kept getting yanked. They had no explicit content just softcore stuff with my url on it. I have seen worse still online, WTF!!

alexchechs 03-11-2010 02:08 PM

We use all 3. Twitter is the best converter for us by far at 1:100. We also have all our new girls start twitter accounts to promote themselves and our site. That seems to help us out alot. The other thing I like is that twitter is a minimum time investment.

When I saw this thread I figured it was a bump from 5 years ago...

Seriously if you have to even ask this question you shouldn't even be in this business

I was out of the biz for several years, and only got back into it last year. Does that make me any less of a moron in your eyes?

Why is it so hard for smart asses to just ignore threads when they have nothing substantive to contribute? Why must they always put them down with lame insults meant to make themselves look superior? Why are there so many fucking assfucks on this board?

You have some hot chicks.

The reason I am interested is that I want to build up some music fan traffic for some mainstream music sites I am working on but I also wanted to make some $$ from softcore babe and for women hunk sites. I don't really do HC porn at all. Just a personal thing. I personally hate HC. I use sponsors like Playboy, Action Girls, Mac & Bumble, and Twisty's. I never use hardcore content on any of my free sites, just topless/full body nudity.

Can I contact via email you for more info RE your experiences using Twitter?

Cool experiences... I never paid attention to social networking but I am sure it helps a lot :thumbsup

Twitter and FB have only been around (to the public) for around 4 years.

Plus, not everybody is a veteran in this industry, many are only starting out now.

punkpred 03-15-2010 08:03 AM

there is nothing in twitter tos about adult there are thousands of twitter adult pages
its how you go about it
if yout post babe content lesbian your ok hardcore you will be banned
i have done a few accounts for adult webmasters

POed-poster 03-31-2010 12:17 AM

How about this - use these sources to promote non-nude bikini and babe sites, which link to softcore or non-nude sponsor tours (the sponsor may have hardcore in its members area, which the surfer would have to pay to see. I personally detest hardcore porn anyway. If anyone has experience with this, PLEASE drop me an email.

I also have a few music related mainstream projects I am in the process of developing.

POed-poster 03-31-2010 12:18 AM

BTW, does anyone know of any sponsors who would accept traffic in this way?

Jakez 03-31-2010 12:29 AM

I've never took the time out to do any social network promoting, but have you seen South Park? It's all about pushing the limits. I'm sure people aren't posting full nudity but instead 'teaser' pics with the naughty parts covered up to bypass the restrictions and lure person(s) into clicking the link and visiting their site, where the restrictions become less and less limited.

bufferover 03-31-2010 01:58 AM

Do you guys promote paysites or only dating?

Jimmer 04-02-2010 07:10 AM

Create your own Social Networking site using WordPress and BuddyPress, http://www.createsocialnetworkingsite.com/
Be creative and you can make money. I made a lot of money with a MySpace page. You need to be creative in this industry.

Roby 04-02-2010 07:22 AM

i never used this

PastorSinAlot 04-02-2010 08:29 AM

I wonder if a page with the experiences of a female photographer would be acceptable. Could always post for Eva and spice it up a bit.

HandballJim 04-02-2010 08:39 PM

I rather not since I have family on those websites...some under 18 y/o :2 cents:

People can be dousches, dude. Ignore them. Welcome back to the Biz.

The entire social networking thing is a fine art. You can't be too heavy-handed about it, it's all "tease"-type stuff. So it sounds like you have the right content to make the efforts work, but I would imagine it's a long-term thing, and you have to be commited to doing it every single day, like clockwork. Or maybe five times a week, shit like that. But then it can pay off big time.

I'm setting up a Mister Peabody account on twitter, FaceBook and MySpace for launch next week. Easy for me 'cause I'm a cartoon. heh. I'm also a character. heh heh

Anyway, good luck man!

no problem, the worst they do is put a explicit label over the picture of the video but once the user signs in and allows their settings of the daily motion filter to accept they will see everything fine, never had anything removed there, sounds like your more softcore so probably won't even see that

clicker 04-03-2010 07:35 AM

I too have clicked on the hot girl with huge tits on social networking sites. It works if you have something of value to offer to your network without constant selling. Every 5th post you can soft sell them.

[ Nate ] 04-03-2010 08:33 AM

Be careful. I have had 2 myspace accounts deleted because I pushed the limits. Just keep it tease/clean and you should be ok. Oh yea, don't forget to maintain it...lol.
