iMac question
 

I'm thinking to get a 27in iMac this week.

I don't do any gaming, some video but nothing too major, watermarking etc. Nothing else too major really. Just a bit of code here and there.

Is the quad core worth the extra $300?

IF you want to render video spend the extra.

Better is always better.

Don't buy last years tech when you can get this years - Reasons will present themselves.

It's all about the render time. If you think that your time is worth that 300 bucks, then go for it.

Also, always worth checking this site before you buy a mac.

when i moved from a single core pc to a duo core imac last year i almost shit myself at the difference in speed and power... DEFINITELY get the quad and load it with ram for an all around better experience.. I dont render shit. I ICQ, skype, statsremote, surf and sometimes play java-(flash??) based games.

I ended up getting the quad core i7 with intel chips. Fast as hell :)
