need remote software
 

I need to connect to a windows computer from a mac. I don't know why but I think there is something about Spainish ISPs that seem to block this. So windows remote is out of the question.

Anyone know or recommend of any free programs and preferably interchangeable with OS?

gotomypc isn't free.

I found tightvnc.com but prefer to hear a recommendation first before trying out any programs.

VNC works well but is a bit sluggish and nothing compared to f.ex terminal services which I guess isnt available for MAC. So try VNC

TeamViewer, any VNC software (I suggest the ones using Tight Encoder), Remote Admin, www.google.com ;) Depending on what you want to do with it ( just remote control, file transfer, etc.) they are all good. Me, for instant, I use tightvnc for viewing and Radmin for file transfer. Hope it helps.
@DomainBroker: perhaps he just don't want to spend money and then discover that he could have used a free software.

The free software solutions suck for this, believe me I've tried a ton of them, none are as fast as gotomypc.

I don't want to pay $20/month for 1 time use and having to do many more accounts on different computers. I have used gotomypc before and a few others but gotomypc is ok. I'm sure since last time I used gotomypc there have been other programs made that are faster and better suited for my needs, not gotomypc's billing to use many accounts.

If someone can recommend something else I'd like to try it.

gotomypc has a one month free trial, so as you say it's a one off use, use that and then cancel. POW.
