minimum payment = no payment?
If a sponsor has a $50 or $100 minimum, they need to pay affiliates even if they send you only a few sales. I understand they do it so they dont have to cut tons of small checks. However, making affiliates chase down money owed is bullshit. At least cut check at the end of the year for unpaid sales.
Just sayin...karma is a bitch. |
i had thread about that long time ago, but all is same :)))))

if only it worked that way..

if you can't send enough sales to make the minimum payment you shouldn't promote that sponsor... :2 cents:

this comes up many times because of the reverse shave, many programs say for example that have a 35pps and a 50 dollar min pay will add a 35 dollar pps sale to your account within you sending 10 hits.
This makes almost everyone jump for joy and you then turn on your traffic and send them tons of hits, to your surprise 10000 hits later and no sale this is common |

If your min payout is $100 and I send you 3 sales @ $30 each, you dont pay the $90 you owe? If you min payout is $50 and I send you 1 sale @ $30, you keep it? |
It's done because of fraud.. pure and simple.
If it was one sale and a payout could happen, programs would be flooded with people creating accounts, sending one sale, and waiting for payout, then charging back. Affiliate fraud is a very serious and common issue with programs. By putting in a $50 or $100 buffer, it takes a few sales, the program can make sure your account isn't fraud, and pay you. Then add in the cost of doing business.. ie, wires and the pain in the ass of dealing with many bitch checks and fees. With most sponsors, you can ask for payout if you didn't hit the min. If you have pushed them for a bit, many will lower your min payout. Just don't ask at the end of the first pay period that you sent your sale. |
its a business, if you dont meet the limit, you dont get paid. its in their rules so there is no way to be angry that they dont pay you 49 if the limit is 50. normal business

$50 minimum is fine.
The cost to write and mail a cheque is something, too. Imagine someone made $2. Would you go through the trouble of sitting down and writing a cheque for someone for $2 and then buying a stamp to mail it to them? Of course not. |

If you send one sale, it rebills for 3 months, they pay you and then they charge back all 3 months - it's fraud. If this was an open hole, it would be exploited to death. It's not worth anything or a probably a loss if they pay you and get a cb on that one sale. |

If you're 15 and almost old enough to drive, can you get a drivers license? If you are 20 but almost 21, can you legally drink? If your almost old enough to collect a social security, will they just give it to you anyway? So to answer your question, yes, they keep the money. If you don't meet the payment requirements, you don't meet the payment requirements. Plain and simple. If you don't like the rules, either follow them or find a new sponsor. This is not rocket science. |
