Why do people pay for porn??
 

i'm not in favor of sites that steal porn at all especially since i work for a paysite and hate to see people who work hard get cheated out of their hard work and money, but with all the free porn on the net i'm curious as to how so many paysites even stay in business.

what's the average consumer's motivation for paying for porn? is it because they want really specific material that's hard to find for free? is it out of the goodness of their heart? maybe they're just the type of person who likes to spend money and buy and own things? fear of viruses?

i'm curious here. thoughts?

Fear of viruses? I don't think so. I think they are the part of online traffic which is rich or at least not poor. So they see a quality product and they just buy it like anything else what they like.

As far as I can tell ... the tubes don't offer sustained quality or focus in the same way that paysites do. For instance, HD footage, regular sets of photo's, diary entries by models, webcam shows ... etc. All those things are surely worth paying for if you want a specific thing?

They think they are getting stuff that isn't on the tubes. But they are wrong.

Of course, in some rare cases it might be a really unique product (a girl, type of fetish, specific location...etc) they won't find anywhere else. Some quality paysites serve such products and serve it a lot. So, it makes a sense to pay for it when tubes, torrents and filesharing websites fail.

Some people like to actually download movies straight to their hard drives, organize and categorize them in different folders, search for them and watch them with ease, and not have to go to some shitty tube site, search for what they want, wait for the buffering, etc.

At this point, I think it's safe to say they see something that makes them feel happy feelings moreso than when they go to other sites they don't buy at. I doubt anymore that it's sheer amount of porn that does it since tubes have sheer amount of porn - it's a specific girl or a specific image or video or whatever that happens to perk their turtle at the right moment (or whatever the female equivalent would be...wet their well? lol I dunno).

Tubes all have low quality shit. Also stuf on tubes is hard to find or not there. Tubes seem to have lots of movies but sometimes they have a dozen of the same movie. That doesn't count as 12 movies in my books. Not to mention all those low quality movies are the url of the theives website covering part of the screen. Most tubes have their movies under 500 kbps and you need at least double that to come anywhere near DVD quality. Honestly if I wanted to watch a movie that looked like it was on a 20 year old VHS tape that's been played 1000 times then I would just get out my old collection of 20 year old VHS tapes.

Because food, Water, Health, Sex are basic needs for Humans, Simple as that.

That is the stupidest fucking comparison ever, for numerous reasons.

1. A steak has value.
2. Porn videos have implied value, actual value = just about fucking nothing.
3. I can close my eyes picture a scene and pull my dick to it.
4. I can't close my eyes and fill my belly with steak.
5. A steak covered in dogshit is unusable, tube videos (which I'm assuming you're talking about) are absolutely usable, just a little lower quality.

Well guess what, I'll probably eat that no name fucking steak in the comfort of my own home.

Thinking that video quality dictates the quality of a scene is just plain wrong. I do not need HD video to jerk off, and having video in HD does not make a shitty scene any better. Take all the fancy fixings from that $15 steak dinner and slap them aroudn a minute steak, and that hardly seems like it's worth $15 any more does it?

Anyone who thinks that much of anyone cares what quality the video is in is fucking dreaming. Anyhow, you can sit and watch as the quality of the video streamed by tubes continuously grows better and better. This little argument is slowly slipping out the window.

Anyhow I said download in my post I believe. Quality isn't exactly an issue there now is it? just as easy to hit a sharing forum and download everything for free at max quality as it is to go stream a porn tube.

Real issue at hand, the high implied value of a virtually worthless luxury product.

Why do people pay for anything? Usually if you pay for something, it's better quality than if it's free. The paid porn is much better quality than free porn.

If tubes were like steak covered with dog shit, no one would be going to them. Instead almost everyone is going to them compared to paying for porn.

It's only a matter of time before everything on the internet is free. There's not enough man power to monitor every resource and protect monetary rights or every web entrepreneur. For every 100 man government ran IT department working to secure our infrastructure, there's one 16 year old Russian hacker fucking everything up for them.

When I ran pay sites many moons ago, I found that a huge number of sign ups were from stolen credit cards or legit credit cards that ended up charging back and blaming their non-existent kids for the charge. And credit card companies always sided with the dickhead. We not only lost what they paid us to sign up but we also lost the processing fee and the $25 chargeback fee. It just isn't worth it anymore.

Everything that isn't a physical purchase will be free on the internet within the next couple years. Bank it.

This is why solo sites (when done well) are more sustainable than most pay sites because of member interaction and fantasy.

A niche site when done well will do fine.

people are paying for porn cause they knows that porn isnt for free. its not everyone, but there is still many people who knows how hard is to make something good. same as me, i know that all the programs i need are located on wbb, but i buy them cause i know that the programs are making me money so i am supporting it. and there is still so many people who are thinking the right way

Many freelance webmasters earn millions every year. They do not know how to sell porn, but they know how to take advantage of the circumstances.
These foreign webmasters choose regions where they have an advantage over the local competition.
for example: German website owners have to verify the visitor`s age. No credit card verification. Real age verification with certified mail and postident etc. This takes several weeks.
But german visitors do not want to wait. They want german phone sex and german webcam sex immediately.
So the users search for german phone sex with no age verfication. If they find them, they are lucky. They return to them every week, because the others demand age verification or only offer english webcam sex ... many Germans cannot speak English.

I bought a Pandora account. Music is pretty much free but I really love Pandora. $36 a year! It opens my eyes to music I never would have heard. Thats the same with Porn. Offer a great product at an affordable cost and there are plenty of people that will buy. For some sites (like ours) our members become CM's fans. And fans will always support you.
