WTF Facebook, how to block people from viewing my frends list

I don't want people to view my friends list, whether they are my friends or not. My mom found a picture of my girlfriend just by looking up her name on my FB :( Is there an option somewhere? I can't find it

Quagmire 03-02-2010 10:58 AM

you sir, fail at the internet.

hand in your computer, you will be issued a pencil and pad of paper.

CamTraffic 03-02-2010 11:00 AM

is she that Ugly?
Why do you care if your mom sees your gf's pictures?

It is important to remember that there are a few things that Facebook considers to be public information ... that is your friends list and pages you are a fan of.

I've seen some people block their friends list from showing ... but I haven't figured out how. I have everything blocked to anyone but my friends (even my network can't see my stuff, including my photos) except my friends list and my pages.

I don't care about my friends list being public but I'd rather my page list not be ... so if anyone knows how to make that be without deleting them, I'd appreciate being told. :)

Click on your profile.. then on the side where it shows your friends.. there should be a pencil looking thing to edit.. click that.. Then there should be a box that you uncheck that says show your friendlist or something like that. Make sure it is Unchecked.

ShellyCrash 03-02-2010 12:12 PM

Maybe the key to this is having your GF mark her photos as private. If your mom knows her name she can look her up anywhere.

... i gotta know though, what's so bad about the pic?

Yey it works, because she wants me to date a jewish girl and I keep ending up with asians :(

You're awesome and a BIG thank you! I've scoured the privacy settings many times looking for a feature like that.

Funny how they make everything else so obvious but tuck that little gem away.

Lace 03-02-2010 01:26 PM

Ahh thank you, Belinda!

I have everything blocked on facebook so that only my friends can see and this is one thing I missed.
I love my privacy.

st0ned 03-02-2010 01:48 PM

Thanks Belinda, I have been looking for that feature as well. :thumbsup

You can even go back to the stone age, where they used to write and draw on walls of stone.

There is an option on Facebook. Look it up.

It allows to choose whether everyone can see your facebook page, or just your friends.

Well, it could be worse. FB could allow people to see who's been checking out their profiles. Friendster does that :(

I'm sure they still record and indirectly use that data...

La_Sexorcist 03-03-2010 05:45 AM

Just go to your privacy settings and enter the name of who you wish to block, They won't even be able to search for you or see you on mutual friends' pages.
