Juicy,

Have you tried fios yet?

smax 03-02-2010 09:07 AM

Use a HD antenna for locals, the picture will be better then what you get on satellite or cable since its not compressed

Last time I checked with them they didnt have it available yet in my area i would have to use there "dsl" internet

I also do not like the mandatory 2 year commitment they require and massive early term fee.

Ahh ok,

I thought alot of nyc had it already

I didn't have to do a 2yr contract, 1 yr commit and 2 yr. price guar. I saw there new early term fee - something like $360.00 or so...

I have dish for tv and 25/15 net + Fax line from Fios for 89.00 -- not too bad

the weird part is i still have a landline from Verizon in the home which i didnt want ported over to the voip line.

The Fios coverage is spread out sporadically here its weird the next street over might have it but not me its weird.

You should port if you don't need fax, etc

www.voipo.com like $99.00 a yr - and works fantastic Juicy, or if you want to use your own device, i.e. ip phone, etc voip.ms also is real good.

If fios is close to you - it will be there soon....... Hard to beat there speeds and prices for the net - I mean it never goes down mano :)

Dumping cable TV was the best move we've made. Got a little HTPC with HD tuner. All the networks come over the air in HD and I torrent the rest.

I'm a huge sports fan and never watch ESPiN, when they decide to start reporting on stories instead being the story I'll start watching again until they can eabod

Juicy, No where does it say ESPN will be taken off. ESPN has a separate contract with Cablevision. They are only talking about WABC

Cablevision means business.

They did a blackout here for 2-3 years because they would not pay local stations what they were asking for. So during the "must see TV" of the 90's, we had no NBC. I want to say the same happened with one of the other networks, but not for years. However I do not recall for sure. As I barely watch/ed the others.

Shortly after they finally came to agreement with the NBC stations, they sold this market or franchise, to Charter.

that sucks, but what is there to watch on ABC anyway :1orglaugh

Precisely why I will not sign up with them.

No such thing as an "HD" antenna. All antennas can recieve a HD signal.
