Your favorite Mad Max film?

Mad Max

Road Warrior

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome

I think it's a toss up between the first and road warrior. Road Warrior is fucking great, but the first is more exciting. Some of the best chase scenes I have ever seen, even when compared to today's movies. Who was your favorite villain? Toecutter, Wez, Humongous? Or Tina Turner lol? The third one sucked IMO.

If you are a fan of the series, please discuss...

Haven't they been producing that for over 2 decades?

Lol @ Mad Max part 1. Ironically, part 1 was the worst in the trilogy. The Road Warrior was the best.

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome... probably because it was the first one I saw. Maybe it's time to watch some mind numbing, man tv again.

The third was by far the worst in the trilogy.

Road Warrior is probably the best, but while Thunderdome was the campiest, it is the most well loved. I know Thunderdome isn't as good of a movie, but it holds a special place in my heart. You can't deny it has the best one liners.

"who run barter town?"
"say louder!"
"bust a deal - face the wheel"
"Two man enter, one man leave"

etc etc

It's all good shit.

Tina Turner in "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" left an indelible mark on me...

Mad Max was by far the best script, but Road Warrior was the best movie. George Miller learned what he was doing by then and kept things simple. The Humungus where fucking great! Even a rabbit couldn't move without their okay.

I don't even want to talk about Thunderdome. There should be a law against movies like that being made. Shit like that has an everlasting traumatic psychological effect on people, especially when they try to promote it with the first two movies :1orglaugh

The scene where he beats the shit out of the giant mongoloid always cracks me up.

But The Road Warrior is the best of the series to me.

yeah and I like the whole weird Lord of the Flies/Peter Pan diversion at the midway point. One of my favorites.

If you want to see some more great work by George Miller which will remind you of Thunderdome, watch Babe: Pig in the City. I'm not even kidding. It's a great movie.

Road Warrior is my favorite, but the V8 monster in part 1 was just great. Thunderdome is a little bit weird, the 1st half was cool, the 2nd half was boring in my oppinion.

Raf1 02-26-2010 09:39 AM

Road Warrior probably, but there were good moments in all of them :)

Oh I know, Doomsday was SOOOO Mad Max, lol. The end "chase" it felt like it came straight out of the series.

Doomsday's not bad, don't like it as much as I like mad max films, but for what it is it was good. I really dug the soundtrack too, though I thought the placement of a few of the songs was a little "off". :thumbsup

Also, I think someone should outlaw the use of "In A Heartbeat" from 28 days later. I'm pretty sure they used it a few times in Doomsday too. It was good the first time, for 28 days later, that's it. It's just overkill.

That's exactly what I hated about it.

It was totally not what I was expecting, so that's usually appreciated by me. You have to admit, the movie got back on track with an ending car chase that matched the Road Warrior.

thanks for the support :D

The ending car chase was very good. Pretty similar to the ending of Road Warrior.
