Best BULK watermarker/Thumb creator?
 

K, since this USED to be mostly a TGP webmaster site, at least when I joined in 01' I have a question I need help with, bear with me, I'm thinking out loud.

ok, I got 30k+ pics I need to make into 15 pic sets, just need the pics watermarked, resized and matching thumbs. I have come to the conclusion that no program I can find for the mac can do this easily, without needing time consuming workarounds to rename each pic and thumb to conform to the uniform naming option I need, and those that do you can't create a square thumb that looks decent or a perfectly sized watermark on the pic.

just need to take say an original pic set of 150, break them down into random pic 10 directories, rename each one "picname-00.jpg" counting to "picname-14.jpg", resize,& watermark, and have 320x320 thumbs made with no watermarks into a directory called "thumbs".

So the directories will look like this, and are always named the same from dir to dir numbered 00-14.jpg and doesn't keep counting upto 30k for the file rename:

You might wanna look at FrameShots. I can't say I have used it in that way, as I watermark the clips at time of video compression, but may be possible.

you really be better off writing a shell script to do this a lot quicker, using imagemagick

well I just hate reinventing the wheel, but I will if I have to.



Gonna try out the prgrams mentioned by MaDalton, & Bare first.

I handle that kind of work with custom http://www.autohotkey.com/ scripts and photoshop actions.
Yes like you said, that would be reinventing the wheel but most of the time you can't find a program to do all the things you need to do.

I use a little known program called bimp light

Its kind of old, but it has done what I wanted to do, and its fast. Oh and like me, its free..

yes, it's a good simple program, but as far as I can see, it doesn't create a watermarked full image and thumbs, renames em and splits em into folders at the same time.

faststone can rename them & resize.
it can also watermark at the same time..but you need to be familiar with that feature.
then thumbnailer gets the thumbs.

yes, but you can't tell either program to create new directories, give that dir a name add 15 pics, then make another new dir... I am gonna have to make a program I guess, too specific.

It does allow you to create new folders. :2 cents:
