I only used to wear mine occasionally. This was years ago before they tightened up the laws. I was helping a friend move on the West side of Oahu, and he made me wear the belt during our trips back and forth. A guy came into our lane and didn't hit head on, but well enough to cause a serious accident. I had a bruise on my chest for a while, but I didn't get smashed into a jelly against the windshield.

20 years after that, I still put mine on even if I'm just going down the block.
