Jarmusch 02-21-2010 04:13 PM

Any book I would want to save is available in digital format, so none.

Paper books are for the birds.

easyBob 02-21-2010 04:35 PM

Cyber Fucker 02-21-2010 04:51 PM

TheDoc 02-21-2010 05:21 PM

The Large Hadron Collider Experiment Manual ... A true book, I really have no idea, something very large - like a collection of 1000 short stories.

camperjohn64 02-21-2010 05:32 PM

The Encylopedia. Since it covers snippets of all the other books.

alias 02-21-2010 06:31 PM

Useless to save just one because the beautiful thing about books, and similar media, is the ability to learn other lots of people's knowledge and other people's point of view. Just one book would be like just one web page, too limited to present the desired brain expansion.

rowan 02-21-2010 10:06 PM

1984... if they're burning books it might give you some idea of what's ahead.

Lame.... seriously. Have you actually read it? It's not worth saving, unless you think drivel from some entitled 15 year olds is what gets you going. :disgust

Casa Nova 02-21-2010 11:22 PM

The Secret

Elli 02-22-2010 12:01 AM

Can I save both the Iliad and the Odyssey as one book? Now that's great storytelling: heroic, tragic characters, monsters, gods, wars, hostages, seiges, family betrayals, pirates, mermaids (I could go on!)

JD 02-22-2010 12:01 AM

by 2007 over 30 million people watched that thing, and since then everything on this planet went to shit.

It sold well for the same reason the ab belts sell, because they both claim you can sit on your ass, do nothing and see results.

If the secret would of been called "Hard work pays off" they would of sold maybe 1 copy.

I bet some people who really love "The secret" who defaulted on their mortgage payment, told the bank, if you can truly imagine that the check is in the mail, sooner or later it will arrive.

The bottom line is thou, if you feel a book did something for you positive than great, overall "The secret" fans remind me of people who have 5000 yellow post it notes on their computer with small motivational quotes, it seems like the only motivation these people have is to find more motivational quotes.

lol.

i think it would depend on the mood i was in at the time. jack karouac's on the road, or roald dahl's complete short stories come to mind right now.

I was joking, I don't have it. I read it when I was about 12. :)

NBBCash Matze 02-22-2010 06:35 AM

CCBill WMS manuals... oh no they are actually useless, I forgot. :1orglaugh

American Psycho would be my choice. Haven't read it yet but it should be great, from what I've heard about it.

The Heron 02-22-2010 06:43 AM

You all are stupid.
The Way Things Work would be the book to save.

Redrob 02-22-2010 06:47 AM

"How to Win Friends and Influence People" or "The Power of Positive Thinking"
Both are better than Bible for living a fulfilled life.

The bible implants morals with story.. it also unread but with the thought of there being a place to go after death and will be with family andf friends keeps you way more moral then a self help book..

It puts the light and the dark as a way through the straight and narrow.. in stead of like yer books are to being happy and influance people which seems like it whould be unmoral just by reading the title.
