The point of Blog Spam?
 

I delete every last one of them, or just change the info in the comments. Are alot of webmasters not filtering their comments?!?

Obviously a lot of people are not filtering their comments, just as a lot of people click on viagra spam.

People, you see, are very fucking stupid.

yup, there are quite a few that don't even look at the comments...

well thats good to know. I thought it was a "no brainer" to keep that shit in check. that is a very preventable traffic leak issue imho.

you see all those strange looking urls in your comments? it is not to get human attention, but to get robots attention, just some explanation

akismet plugin for WP learns as you mark comments as spam and then filter them automatically. you just need an api key and its done, akismet comes as a default plugin with WP.

I always turn off comments on my blogs at all.

I hate blog spam and none of it ever gets posted on my site since I filter thru them, and the couple that don't get caught by ,u filter I delete myself.. I love how everytime I blog about my webcam shows I always get spammed by a couple of rinky-dink (like 30 girls online and they're all czech..LOL!) webcam websites, and webcams.com always tries to spam my blog too! WTF?

Yep! I actually spend a lot of time commenting, but I don't make it blatant spam either. I actually take the time to read what it is about and comment appropriately. In the process I get a backlink that I earned it by reading their mostly unintelligent spew.

yes, i guess i was just wondering if some of you were dealing with the same things i was. look, as long as i can comment on a blog with my url also, i am totally cool with it. but for the viagra, cialis and other blatant bullshit, blah...

Go get em. I had one spammer that took it quite personal because I changed his viagra ads to "OMG, such a cool fucking site."

Akismet works great. Some days it catches upwards of 200 spam mails.
