Apple's War On Porn Is Just Getting Started
 

Apple means business this time -- apps that sell sex are being tossed out of the App Store en masse.

For the past 12 hours, app developers have been getting notices from Apple saying that their apps have been taken down, due to a new policy that bans all "overtly sexual content".

Apple has a history of making sudden changes to its policies and removing apps, but a developer we spoke to said that the scale of the current purge is unprecedented.

Apple has always wanted G rated apps in its store... sucks to be all those companies who spent loads of cash developing porn apps, only now to see them all get removed.

I don't get smart phones. Yes I own one, have had one for the last 4 years. But I think as much phone traffic as I have. I think steve is doing me a favor, because if they can't get it at the apps store, they may find one of my sites. They find my site and hey I can make sale fine by me.

Apple's been pulling down adult apps for a while now. I suppose with all the renewed attention from the iPad, they decided to do a bigger purge.

Alot of kids buy their shit and since they have it set up where they are the ones selling the apps. I can see that.

I assume you are talking about new apps, and not ones that have already been downloaded...

The Android market will gladly take what you have to offer. Porting iPhone apps to Android is a snap.
