I must admit that I have never followed this event but watched it earlier today on the highlights and what can I say...wow!

This guy is absolutely amazing. That Tomahawk trick on the halfpipe. If you haven`t seen it, check out the vids.

I watched him on both runs lats night... he is freakin amazing, the run was amazing, the air was amazing, him landing that trick was amazing... a victory lap that pawned even his own score, it was wow!

It's always remarkable to witness people that increase the bar to new levels.

awesome footage... who would have thunk that snowboarding would be the biggest spectator event for the olympics!

Most impressive this kid is amazing! Loved how his sponsor Redbull carved out half the mountain for his his own personal half-pipe to practice on with a foam bucket. Bet they got some great ariel footage.

I love snowboarding, and Shaun White is out of this world

I watched the women's tonight, lov'in the halfpipe.

Shaun White is awesome. He's one of those rare guys that seems to do better as the pressure builds.

It sort of pisses me off that snowboard half pipe is an Olympic sport but BMX or Skate halfpipe isn't. If you've ever ridden a bike or a skateboard on a vert ramp, you need to be waaaaaaay more precise than a snowboard. On a snowboard you can land sideways or clip the coping and still ride it out.

Shaun White was an incredible skater, so that's probably why he dominates snowboard. If you can can kill it on a skate vert ramp, you'll be unstoppable on a snowboard.

Looking at this I think.... what a set of parents to let him see this through. Mine snatched me up and moved me to the country. Now I see this and think, wow... this is what an uninterrupted dream looks like.

Shaun killed it. In general all the competitors had really good runs. I wish they would have Snowboard park as well in the Olympics

Watching it live on TV you could hear him discussing with his buddies as to how he should do his second run after winning the gold with his first run. He considered just going straight down or doing something simple not to risk injury but ultimately decided on a bonzi run with his new trick that got him an even higher score. He made the right choice, didn't disappoint and it was awesome :thumbsup

He is one of very few that are naturally gifted at what they do and no matter how hard people try to duplicate what he's doing they will always fall short of what he does while in his prime.

he's by far the best half-pipe specialist, but he is no where near the best all around snowboarder. Travis Rice and Jeremy Jones are the best big mountain, insane sketchy lines riders, by far.

The competitors know what White means to the sport and that it would actually be detrimental to the sport for anyone else to win. :2 cents:
