At least your friends and family know that you put a lot of thought and consideration into their gifts.:winkwink:

I did the same thing. Hit one store for girlfriend, everyone else in family should be receiving their amazon.com gift certificates right about now.

Yay.

That's the safe way to shop! Why get someone something that they don't really want... 6 gift certificates this year :thumbsup

Gift certificates have to be the dumbest gift to give. You pay hard earned cash for a piece of paper/card which expires, thus losing your hard earned money, and/or the person who receives it will end up spending more than the gift certificate is worth just to get something decent.

If you want to give a gift give them Life Savers with a $20 bill wrapped around it.

the part you missed is I dont give a shit nor do I have any time for shopping

I would rather get a gift certificate than something tangible that sucks.

also, on this topic... my philosophy is if you're not doing anything to improve my day to day life you are getting a gift certificate. (if anything at all)

I do agree with this sentiment. I've tried very hard NOT to buy gift certificates this year where possible but they are very handy things when you care about someone but really don't know what to get them. I really enjoyed my shopping this year though. It was nice to go into a store and know that what I bought was going to be appreciated as more than just a money alternative.
