New Jersey just legalized medical marijuana. The law for use is limited to certain illnesses. Currently if you have multiple sclerosis, cancer, glaucoma, epilepsy, Crohn's disease, AIDS, muscular dystrophy and Lou Gehrig's disease you can get a prescription for medical weed.

We need some Californian people over here, to help us navigate the legal waters and have a more open policy about marijuana.

Cali people wouldn't last a week in NJ.

Just watched to live stream, I see dirty hands all over the patients medicine and no patients "Right of Privacy"? So a guy has aids and needs Medical Marijuana so they put him on a live stream? Now the California law makers can watch this stream and see what a joke these places are.

Maryland (where I am) has it where a doctor can write a prescription so you can possess it (still have to procure on street, I guess ... law doesn't specify procurement and I haven't researched it) but has nothing else.

I go back to my pain doctor on Thursday and hate having to be on opiates.

I've always been afraid to address the marijuana prescription thing because its still taboo here.

BUT, since my problems are ALL Crohn's Disease related and it's one of the very few reasons it's been approved for NJ, I am going to have a serious talk on Thursday.

When was the last time a pharmacy had "Click to Download the Mix CD" on their homepage along with the pharmacist on stikcam smoking a joint and chatting with 15 y/o's? The poster about medical privacy laws also made a valid point. This is a major HIPAA violation.

They're already looking at cracking down. Such a crackdown would entangle the people that are doing things correctly. Everyone would end up losing.

I'm only concerned with the broadcast. I'd be equally upset if CVS started broadcasting me rolling up and getting my other meds.

If you run it like a serious medical pharmacy then the lawmakers will take it serious when comes time to vote. If they see it as a pot head using a loophole to get high it's not good for anyone.

I have never smoked pot, but you can be damn sure that I will, if I get glaucoma or cancer. I'm glad that I live in California where that would be an option. There are a lot of people who have zero interest in recreational use, but who do care that it be medically available.

Do you think that because some people shoot up heroin for recreation, nobody should get opiate-based painkillers after surgery? Do you think the option to prescribe opiate-based painkillers is a "pretense" at "medicalism"?

The cam is ridiculous, true. I doubt that any real sick people are walking into that dispensary, so I'm also doubting that your argument that sick people could be affected by germs from handling holds water.

However, I think your real argument is "let's maintain an appearance of medicalism, so the powers that be don't take this away from us.".

I empathize with that argument. I hope they don't take it away. But that cats out of the bag, because people can see that that doctors script is a device used by rich folks to be able to get killer weed.

If you can get the dispensary owners to self-regulate better, more power to you.
