Spam filter / killing at server level
Anyone know of any programs that will kill spam before it even hits my inbox? Something that sits at the server level and just deletes it as it reaches the box. It doesnt need to be 100% foolproof, just enough to kill the vast majority of the 500 pieces of shit mail I have to dig through every day.

Then that one important email (like the invitation to GFY Christmas party) might get deleted instead of delivered. Spam sucks but there is not a total fool proof way to block it.

You will thank me 100 times over (ok, at least once) for pointing you to this:
http://www.mcafee.com/myapps/msk/ It has thousands of filters built in, you can customize more, and you can add "friends," so mail from people you know gets through no matter what. Simply stated, it kicks ass. |
Mailwasher.net
you can even bouce the spam back |
i set up my rules in outlook to send anything with the words free and offer to my deleted folder and it takes care of a great majority of my spam.

You can also bounce the spams if you want. I did that for a while, but it didn't seem to reduce the amount I was getting, so I just delete them now. Between SpamKiller and my Popup Blocker, I'm a much happier internet user than I used to be :thumbsup |
