Webmaster Radio....
Ok, so most of you who have been around a few years or more prolly remember the heyday of the Webmaster Radio shows, the bulk of them are now gone.
I myself ran weekly shows for about 3 years and had a blast doing it. every few months since I put down the mic people have told me I should bring my show back, so now I ask you all... SHOULD I kick the radio show back up? Would you listen again (or for the first time) What would you like to see in a 'new' webmaster radio show? Give me you feedback and keep this thread bumped! (And just for shits and giggles IF you remember the old "Clusterfuck Theater" "After Midnight Live" "AML Live" shows, share your memories of them here as well. -Loki- |
Yup, I'd love to listen to it...:thumbsup

Oldies but goodies.

I need some more feedback here folks! Lots of thread views here, but low number of votes And WHICH of you voted "Who is Loki" lmao -Loki- |
I've listened to approx. 10 minutes of one wm radio show one time in ten years. I have zero interest in it, so my vote was a firm No.
:2 cents: |

I never understood the point...

I've never heard a show, but I would be interested in one! :thumbsup
What would be discussed/spoken about, in the first show? |

TDavid's Script School was more of a "teaching" show The hahahahahahaha show (in various incarnations) was more industry news, and interviews Dokk's Thursday Night Net Surprise Party was a variety format There were many many others with various formats, traffic generation, designing, marketing etc etc etc. my shows were always more of "The Inmates Running The Asylum" a way to blow off steam after a long week of working, we had interviews, pranks, porn stars, games, contests etc. there was never a real "flow" to the shows, it was more of a party atmosphere lol -Loki- |

After all that is done and over, I'll prolly do a retrospective of past shows, and introduce the co-host, and give all the new listeners some background on the both of us. most likely I'll do a call in show for the first show (if I can line up some callers lol) Talk about the current state of the industry, what's going wrong, how to fix it etc etc etc. for anyone who remembers my old shows, I've NEVER been one to hold anything back, I've taken LOTS of shit for my views and opinions BUT time has proved me right most of the times lol In all honesty though, I'm still working on an actual format for the show, in the past my shows were 4 hours of pure madness lol, and I just don't know if I want to try and replicate THAT again, so I'm sure this time around the time and format of the shows will vary from week to week depending on the topics were covering. -Loki- |
Just my humble opinion.
The target audience is too limited if you are planning on making this a sustainable & profitable venture. |

Years ago you could make some coin with sponsors and whatnot, but that was pretty short lived, more and more shows cropped up and the money avenue dried up quicker then grannie's cunt lol. IF you know this then your already a step ahead of most of the other out there. This is more about info and entertainment, branding and networking, The money is THERE but in diff formats, not in actual ad revenue. -Loki- |
4 hours seems like a fairly long period to sit listening to something, though I suppose it would be something people can listen to in the background whilst working/masturbating, so it will probably be pretty cool.
Will the shows be downloadable also? How often would they be? :) I'd like to hear some SEO information (pagerank update, google caffeine), industry news (porno dan being punched, why people are limp), experiences with different scripts/websites/people and an answer/question session where you can ask a question by calling, email, live chat and SMS. :thumbsup I think you should start your show back up :thumbsup |

My old shows ran on Friday nights and it always worked out well so we'll prolly keep that the day, archives would then normally be ready by Monday's -Loki- |

I voted, "Who the hell is Loki and what is webmaster radio???"
Then I read what your radio program is all about. Good luck with your program. |
I always liked Dokk's shows :)

I tried listening a couple times and just got bored.
However, there is something that I would actually tune in to listen to and I really think others would as well... quality interviews with quality people. I'm talking about getting a lawyer on to talk about an assortment of issues. I'm talking about getting an accountant on to talk about an assortment of issues. I'm talking about big players. Not message board personalities, but company owners. Pay sites, content, processing, hosting, anything like that. You could get the guy from Clips4Sale in there talking about how content owners can make additional extra money by setting up stores. You can get somebody from TMM in there talking about how affiliates can truly take advantage of all of the tracking features of NATS4. And the list goes on. I really don't care about giggling or inside jokes or funny little shenanigans. Give me substance that actually educates me and I'm all over it. |

I've always felt there had to be a decent mix so that there was something for everyone, not just all biz, and not just all bullshit, it was finding that happy medium that made the show work for those years it ran. -Loki- |
yes sure why not , i want to see (listen) that
|
Anyone know what happened to dokk? Used to talk on the phone with him all the time and haven't heard from him in at least 3-4 years?

I did the pond show for many years, I have all the equipment setting right here, I did my last show about 8 months ago. The only thing I hated about it was time slots. I have my own intro song that I played. I even have the song as a ring tone on my phone. The problem with radio show is the time slot, as we all are in different time zones. I have tried just about every day of the week, and every time and there is always someone missing out. I will bring back a radio show of my own soon. But I don't play music as all I ever listen to is ICP and not a lot of people are into ICP. Good luck with your show Loki, If you need me to run stream or set up for you let me know. I still have all my stuff sitting here. I would just have to work on the server configuration.

This time around I'm going to do everything (in house) one of the biggest issues I had during the old show days was having to rely on others to stream for me, sometimes it made things just a pain in the ass for me, other times it wasn't a bad bad thing lol. so this time around were lining up our own servers for streaming and the live chats. (I'm also toying with also doing a video broadcast as well, but have not made up my mind just yet) The time slot is indeed a bitch and that's why I always opted to go for the 12am - 4am time to do the old shows, it really worked out best for everyone to catch at least some of the show..... say I start at 12am est, that's 9pm for the west coasters and it's the next morning for people abroad, by 4am when we were winding down the shows the west coast was home from the bars and drunk and board, and the people abroad were more awake lol. The archives were where we had the most play though, and that's why I made sure that every show got archived and would go up as soon as I could recode it and upload it to the servers. I would DEFF love you have you on from time to time if your interested! -Loki- |
one more bump before I crash
-Loki- |
If all you do is fuck around on air and gossip about the industry and related topics, NO, I wouldn't listen. But if there were serious business related topics that would be beneficial to webmasters, then yes I would.
