Epassporte Annual fee + renew fee $70?

Didn't think I saw this before, but they charge a $35 fee for the card, then $35 annual fee for Epassporte.com?

Something doesnt seem right here... I get dinged $70 a year now instead of $35?

Looks like first charge was for year 2009 and second one for this year.

Well check a history and if you dont see same charge in year 2009,it's a ordinary renewal fee. That means you are charged every year 35$ for ATM card no matter what..

nope, only have been charged once per year the $35 for the card. looks kinda shady to me

This is because the Electron card was not bought at the same time as you bought the Virtual card.
The annual fee for the Electron card will be on the date you bought the card and the renewal fee will be on the first of the month where the Electron card expire.

So you will pay like this:
Oct 2009 Renewal
Feb 2010 Annual
Oct 2011 Renewal
Feb 2012 Annual
And so on, you will pay $35 per year but no exactly a year a part.

Thought I would jump in here with a related question seeing as Michael is here and is said to be the one to go to at epass.

Why does epassporte wait until the last day your card is valid to take money and renew the card? My card expired 01/2010 they waited till last day of January took my money and then ordered my new card. Now I have no card to withdraw funds and I am told it could take 6-8 weeks to get my new one?

But of course if I want a card faster I could pay a $100 charge to get it in 5 days.

That would be a mistake on your account it should have renewed on Jan 1st.
Your card should be send on Tuesday since Monday is a holiday, please forward me your UserID and I will look into why this happened.

Ok so AWE were kind enough to get mine done for me :) (thanks guys!)

What fees should I be expecting to pay next year? $70? or $35?

$35 per year for the Electron card.

Moving money costs money, I do not currently use Epassporte. Banks charge for incoming wires or in some areas to cash checks. Paypal has fees etc.
