It was bound to happen that dude Christian who started it had his shop nextt door to Von Dutch so I guess over the years he must have thought hey look at what people buy... he then just revamped it and came out with Ed Hardy of course the rest is just bad history.

Christian bought those designs off of tattoo artists...in the end they ended up sueing him cause he didnt pay the royalties..thats why he started Christian Audigier which is Super Douchey. But whatever floats your boat. Buy a T-shirt and a hat for cheap and keep it for 10 years and you can use it as a great Halloween costume! Imagine everybody's face when you walk in...

He is actually a really cheap guy. He wanted to sponsor a friend of mine on something, and no money would be exchanged. Just clothing. Personally, I don't care what the brand name or price tag says. I'll wear a t-shirt from Walmart at 10 bucks just as easily as a $100 t-shirt from a known brand. I buy clothes based off if I like the design or not.

That said, I never liked the Ed Hardy design style. I do like some of the Affliction ones I have seen though.

I don't get how some people are slaves to fashion though to the point they will spend their last cent to make sure they wear a trendy brand. Take my GF's brother for example, he will pretty much ONLY wear clothes made by American Eagle or Hollister, because that's what the other "trendy" Ticos here in Costa Rica are wearing. Someone needs to tell them those clothes aren't of any quality, look terrible (the majority of their designs I have seen) and aren't even in the elitist price range :winkwink:

The guy that designed and put out the Ed Hardy shit WAS ALSO responsible for the Von Dutch line while working for someone else.

He decided to take the same concept and repeat it with a different tattoo artist.

Seems like it worked in his favor.

Yeah, Ed Hardy sued him because he realized he was getting fucked on royalties so he just bought some flash off someone else and kept doing the same line only now under the "Christian Audigier" name.

It's not like Ed Hardy's some saint, he gets what he deserves. He's always been 100% for the money, has been willing to put his name on anything since day 1.

Never heard of it/him whatever. Of course I'm not up to date on every fashion trend. Until Levis stops making jeans I'll just keep on wearing them as I have for the last 30 years.
