Did I go too far with this traffic scammer?
I did a traffic test recently to see how "real" the traffic from some different "too good to be true" traffic brokers is. The "ad" was a flash file with the words "You're a douchebag" in big letters taking up the entire browser, and if the user so much as moused-over the browser window his actions were recorded by actionscript/php. Just a fun little experiment, I didn't expect anything great but thought it would be interesting to see if this 'traffic' came from anything that resembled a human source.
But this one guy dicked me around and didn't even send fake traffic, not a click, then refused to give me a refund based on some lies about TOS, so I decided to ... well, you'll see. Tell me if I went too far. Too much free time on my hands? Obviously. Read the pretty fuckin' funny email transcript here: http://www.andypoppinsdesign.info/ (dudes name is Andy "Poppins" and he's trying to make a web designer of himself or some shit.) Arrgh why do I waste my time like this? Btw that bg pic is from his twitter, he's like 16. Think this will scare him straight? |
Warning: Poppins might be a fake name.

They are all resellers for this: http://protrafficcenter.com/ A site operated by a guy who calls himself David Bowie (www.davidbowiesnightlife.com). I have never tried this traffic myself, for the simple reason that anyone using ads on their salespage the way that they're doing here (check the bottom of protrafficcenter) doesn't ring true to me. If you make more money selling ads on your page than selling your product, something tells me that maybe, just maybe, you're really not that interested in pushing the product, or even making sure it is of a certain quality. Because you still make your buck or two from your advertising. Or you're just a cheap bastard trying to make a buck any way you can. Either way, you will loose my business, as I tend to have a preferrence for being able to trust my business partners. |
Looks like he bought these with the money:
http://www.skullcandy.com/shop/hesh-white-black.html :Oh crap BTW, if you click his Twitter profile picture, you get a much larger version. Wait until he finds his way to the GFY buy/sell section! |
