Netbooks are good for taking a long shit in the bathroom. I love mine, but that's the most use it gets.

It does get tossed in the diaper bag every time we leave the house, but it doesn't get used all that often on the go.

There are some new $100 netbooks coming out that might be more in your price range.

Now, some people can say $100 is cheap. But, $100 could be what you make in one working day - think about that.

The other option is to take a laptop from a store that a has a 30-day-return policy. This way you can return the laptop after 30 days and get your money back. You can even take a laptop for $1500 for 30 days and then return it and get your money back.

Essentially, you can rent a lap top for 30 days for free.

For a laptop I'd go with a Macbook, and for a netbook I love my Asus.
