What is the best choice for small laptop [netbook]?
Under 14"...
Something like Apple Macbook Air...
I was thinking MSI X320...
Small under 1.5 kg...

i cant tell im tall and big and 13" macbook pro fits me like a smartphone fits anal hobbit.

I have an Asus EEpc Seashell, and I like it.

Asus ah... maybe is good choice... but something more power... like 2 GB RAM...

The HP Mini comes standard with 1GB but you can upgrade it to 2GB.

If you want to do anything more than check email and surf the web, the shitty atom processors on most netbooks will annoy the hell out of you

dell mini is nice as just a basic surfing, email, chat ......never for work, lol .... thats what my XPS's are for ..............

I wanna upgrde to the new model (biggest resolution of the LCD), but its in ugly black color, no superb aluminium :(, so no deal...

If you wanna buy some, only few advices:

Don't buy the ones with 1024*768 resolution, Adobe Photoshop dialogs will be too big, and you may not use it! Buy 13xx x xxx resolution (text will be smaller, but Adobe Photoshop dialogs will thank you...).

Buy standard 2GB RAM, don't the 1 GB.

Buy one with BIG keys, look to LEFT and RIGHT free space near the keyboard. I don't know, why some designers putting free space near keyboard and using small keys, but i wanna kill for it :).

Almost all small notebooks have same weight 1,2-1,5 kg, so no big deal here. 1,2 is for small battery, 1,5 kg for big 6 cells battery, all notebooks are same in this. So buy bigger battery and focus on good brand, so keypad will be useful (cheaper brands keypad are almost for nothing).

BTW aluminium or some hard case rock, the plastic is ugly and weak, with aluminium you may impress all chicks :) if you will put the aluminium "fancy" superb "toy" to the restaurant table... :).

just so you know worst companies are hp (25% of hp netbooks break in the first year) and acer...msi is very good company the only downside on the older models was materials used to make it, the plastic was a bit on the cheap side, but with this model its not the case, and msi hardware is just as solid as asus imho.

Funny. None of the three Dell netbooks I've own and purchased had soldered RAM. They were all easy to swap out.

Sure it's slow (according to the my desktop) but now 99% of this small notebooks have same Intel Atom CPU, so show me the better.

BTW this super power saver CPU notebook is faster, than my 5 years old top notebook, which cost me 1500 €, so for the reading of books, running stocks analysis program and watching photos plus videos its ideal and I'm using it everyday, so don't tell me, that its crap.

Sure It's not replacement of the desktop, but who may use it as the replacement... None. It don't have +4 GB of RAM it don't have 2 or 4 real power processors units and 3 TB of disk space, which I have on my desktop, but none notebook have this parameters today, or will be so big and extra heavy fat...

I like this my small notebook, BTW, he is so small, that I'm running it whole time when I'm working on my desktop and I have it UNDER :) my 28" LCD, yes under it :) (he is very small), and watching TV/stocks on it :) LOL... for the money its good deal, before 8 years this small ones 12" notebooks cost 3000 €, now it cost 1/10... and it's more toys, but so powerfull...

what does all that got to do with the shitty hp computer? get an asus if you want a small netbook.

I have a gateway which I like. Cant wait high resolution video on it. I would probably get the acer because the screen is slightly larger so you need to do less scrolling when surfing. I like mine mainly for writing. I would think an apple would have more juice. but if your going to spend that kind of money you could probably go with a tiny laptop. One great thing is the battery life 8 hours on the gateway.

Fagget about netbooks, its for teenagers, with all said above by me and Damian, get real, work some or save some to get a 13" macbook pro, you will see your cock added some inches immediately :)

Alienware m11x > ANY other netbook out right now. It runs Modern Warfare 2 @ 30+ fps and still gets 6+hrs of battery life.

13" is too big it will not fit to the my small bag.

BTW my 10" HP Is ideal size and powerfull too (I will not buy some cheap shit Asus), with HP I may sort all my shoted pics on concert in the band pause and delete the bad ones, it's small, fit to my bag, the weight is low and the aluminium case is sexy.

If I will buy something, it will be the e-ink reader for my HTML and TXT books...

This look good, but I will bet, that it will cost more tha 370? :), for me, it's expensive toy... But I like the pad idea...

Very, very slim (.5cm) - Very, very light - 750g with battery.
SSD HDD, inbuilt wifi / cellular net - for the price and power, 2k is a steal.

I just used this laptop as a primary workstation for the last 2 months while on the road. I'm normally on a 3x22" screen powerful rig, and managed to work comfortably on this laptop, coding, cutting video and photoshopping with no issues.

Built in cellular modem is neat, and the thing looks amazing, quality build.

netbooks are slow ! ie atom cpu is much to slow, Low voltage cpu's like core 2 duo SU 7300-7400 -9300-9400 are the way to go, like the acer 13.3 timeline series or samsung x360

it is hard to imagine that 1.2 GHz is faster than 1.6 GHz...

clock speed is not most important thing these days...

more cache or faster fsb cpus can outperform high clock ones...
