Do you have trouble sleeping?

I don't, I fall right to sleep. I know a lot who do though.

What sort of sleep disorder do you have?

JD 02-03-2010 01:57 AM

bbobby86 02-03-2010 01:59 AM

No, i have trouble getting up in the morning...

uno 02-03-2010 02:02 AM

I've had pretty hardcore insomnia most of my life. I hate you re: " Do you have trouble sleeping?
I don't, I fall right to sleep."

CunningStunt 02-03-2010 02:05 AM

I've been an insomniac for years. It has been worse since our second child came along a month or so ago. Light sleeper, and wake up 5 times in a 6 hour period at best before I can't stand it anymore and get up.

Insomnia sucks.

rowan 02-03-2010 02:08 AM

I suffer from sleep apnea, although it's not as bad since I had surgery.

Experimenting with a CPAP unit (the reverse vaccuum cleaner that forces air through your nose) seems to have stuffed up something in my nose, since then it's like my nose is consistently blocked.

Lately I've had problems with insomnia, I'm dead tired but I just can't get to sleep.

The other problem I have is that if I'm woken up (very light sleeper) I have a lot of trouble getting back to sleep.

I bought a CD that was supposed to help me get to sleep, and it was working... it was like I could feel myself floating... then my wife walks in because she heard "strange noises" (the CD) and snaps me out of it. I was NOT happy, and it hasn't worked since!!!

Basically most days I'm a walking fucking zombie.

macker 02-03-2010 02:14 AM

Exactly my problem too, I take my son to school every morning and it can be a killer if I've had a late one the night before. :Oh crap

My whole life, I have never been able to sleep well. My mind races and doesn't want to shut down. I've tried all the crap they tell you, like exercise, don't exercise, don't eat, eat a light snack, drink warm milk, sleep on your back, sleep on your side with a pillow between the knees, blah blah blah. It doesn't work.

If you dont have a humidifier on the cpap, get one. If you have one, turn it up higher.

Replace the air filters monthly. Clean out the air hose in 1:10 solution bleach & water, and rinse it until you cant smell the bleach anymore.

Breathe-Right strips are great, so is sudafed and half of an Ambien-CR.

Spunky 02-03-2010 06:51 AM

I'm lucky if I get 4 hours a night

halfpint 02-03-2010 06:53 AM

If you cant sleep here is a good solution

Have a good hard fap ..It will make you tired and you instantly fall asleep.. Just dont forget to use tissue cause you dont want that sticky stuff all over you when you wake up

dcalm 02-03-2010 07:02 AM

i advice you all hypnosis and eventually sleep induction session for insomia from neuro programmer 2 - works like charm, only things that can calm down my head if i dont go to sleep after 20 hours.

A couple of years ago i couldn't sleep for shit.

Now though, i get up earlier in the morning, and by late on at night, i'm ready for a good sleep, and most the time do so with no problems.

On a Sunday i can usually sleep most the damn day away without even waking up once. :1orglaugh

Tastes and smells like shit, but it works. Just pop 3 of those about an hour or two before you want to go to sleep.

StaceyJo 02-03-2010 11:20 AM

I eat a lot when I want to get asleep.

I gave up on the CPAP after about 5 nights... I was waking up gasping for air, which kind of defeats its purpose! It consistently blocked up my nose. (And seemingly made a permanent change)

...

I've been looking after my daughter recently so the last 4 sleeps (before this one) I've had to get up at the same time she did... each time it was interrupted prematurely, so there's a measurable sleep deficit, and it goes back even further than that. So this time is the first time I can actually "sleep in"... but she still gets up at 5-fucking-30 am and wakes me up. Can't get back to sleep. Same old. SNAFU.

Looks cool, should give it a try.

I've also had reasonable success using extract from organic lavender as aromatherapy. I put a few drops on the pillow as I go to bed and it does work most of the time. Even though as heavy insomniac, I have yet to find something that works all the time.

Daddy Big Nuts 02-03-2010 12:35 PM

I have two problems. Can't fall asleep....can't stay asleep. Hate it.

CYF 02-03-2010 12:35 PM

I've always had a little bit of insomnia but it got worse after I quit smoking last month. The OTC sleep aids help somewhat.

I heard melatonin helps too but I haven't tried that one yet.
