Please Describe Your Perfect Pizza
You know you think about it.
Tell us about your dream... |
I make them regularly, someone bought us a bread / dough maker for a wedding gift years ago.
Thin crust, pizza tomato paste (bought, I cheat), gourmet italian chilli sausages, onion jam, roast red peppers, Spanish red onions, crumbed feta cheese. Topped out of the oven with rocket. |
homemade pizza, fresh tomatos, fresh mazzarella, some olive oil, and basil.
I'm Italian and will travel for a good slice of pizza... |
All meat with shrimp and smoked oysters
|
Whole grain dough, no red sauce, olive oil with minced garlic rubbed on, mushrooms and artichokes.

I play Handball near there sometimes on West 4th and 6th avenue. As an alternative I just go to Ben's Pizza, West 4th, and Mcdougal Street. |

Thin crust, good tomato sauce, mozzarella, green pesto and garlic.
SOMETIMES (rarely, mostly hungover) a junkfood pizza is heaven. Something you order and get delivered. bbq-sauce, chicken, bacon, tons of cheese and such. But that's not even real pizza. |
Something that looks like this
http://blowoutbucks.com/gfy/pizza.jpg Well done but not burnt ... crispy and orange-ish oily from the cheese. The shit that drips out when you fold and eat it the right way! Real fuckin' NY Pizza ... not "NY Style B.S." from anywhere else!!! :thumbsup:thumbsup |

Good pizza is the one take out sort of food they just don't do right in the UK.
I miss a good mom and pop pizza that is the sort that you can fold over. I like cheese that you know is just on the verge of being too hot. I even like the pizza tit bubble. For toppings, I will normally go with a basic mushroom and peperoni but if it is really good pizza I can even have it just plain. I don't know why they don't do it well here. I have had really good pizza on the continent and even in countries such as Belgium but not anywhere in the UK. |

Flavorful dough, thin, crispy, a good zesty sauce, meat toppings that are real and thick cut (not that fake "beef topping", little dog pellets for what is supposed to be Italian sausage, or bacon bits instead of real bacon, or tiny cocktail shrimp, the REAL stuff please), mushrooms, onions, green peppers.
I'm also a fan of the bacon, ham and pinneapple combo. Pre-bake it all, then add extra mozza all over it for the last few minutes of cooking. Then I shake some stinky parmesan cheese on it and some tabasco and I'm in heaven. |
crappy pizzas are all over the place here, i lost my hope until a year ago when i found one place where the pizzas are fucking perfect. Best pizzas ive had all my life.
|
good call CD, i neglected to mention parm.
|
I don't think I should visit this thread anymore of I am going to be breaking my diet soon.
|
NYC style cheese pizza. nothing on it. just great HOT pizza!
|
The oven should be 550-600 degrees to create a thin crust that bakes up cripsy but not hard or burned. The (red) sauce should be both spicy and sweet with extra garlic. Spread the sauce so you leave at least 2 inches of dough on the edges uncovered. Coat the uncovered edge in garlic butter. Spread fresh mozzarella liberally over the entire pizza. Thin sliced pepperoni is my favorite topping...either that or a garbage pizza (everything on it).
|
|
thick crust, light sauce, lots of mozzarella cheese, thick cut pepperoni, pineapple, mushrooms and thinly sliced red onion
|
Make my own dough from scratch. Then add tomato sauce, fresh basil, red onion, and cashew nuts. Top with Mozza.
