90's was the shit ... good music, good economy, good times

yah man...

TheDoc 01-27-2010 04:03 PM

good president...

J. Falcon 01-27-2010 07:41 PM

I miss them too.

AAB 01-27-2010 10:07 PM

Yep, current generation will never know what it's like going to see Sepultura with the Cavaleras ripping Inner Self on the stage. Damn, it sucks for everyone who missed the good shit. Contemporary music sucks for the most part.

Redrob 01-27-2010 10:15 PM

The 80's were pretty good too. "The air was clean and sex was dirty."

weekly 01-27-2010 10:21 PM

The 80s were way better. Much more profitable and more exciting. It rained money.

Sly 01-27-2010 10:24 PM

Funny. I liked the 2000's.

If we all posted our ages I'm sure it would show us why.

26.

The Porn Nerd 01-27-2010 10:27 PM

Everything changed with the election of 2000. BV, my man, you be RIGHT dude: the '90's were the last time any good music came along of any significance, and it only lasted a few years 'til Cobain went ka-boom. Sigh.

Waddymelon 01-27-2010 10:32 PM

See if this makes you feel old:

1990 was twenty years ago.

UniqueD 01-27-2010 10:34 PM

get over that shit. you need to learn to evolve with the music or else youre just a dinosaur. There has been some ridiculously good music put out in the past 5 years. I went through my teens in the 90s, that was my bread and butter. Music now is much better, you people just need to turn off the corporate radio, and dare i say, the XM radio...

That would explain your preference for the 2000's.

:2 cents:

Barefootsies 01-27-2010 10:43 PM

Agreed with your first part about evolving. As for this....

Which one of the artists, that all sounds like Roger Troutman, are ground breaking from the past 5 years?

I do not listen to a lot of radio, but when I have.... almost all of the current pop songs or their artists I should say, are running their voices through synthesizers. I also can't recall a lot of real good songs with a message or lyrics that stand out to me. Especially those who repeat the same sentence over and over for 3-4 minutes with techno in the background.

I personally do not think this is ground breaking as Troutman already did this in the 80's with the synthesizers. So I must be missing the revolutionary music from the past half decade somewhere.

:disgust

There is always good music around. I can recognize it when I hear it. I just don't always like it.
I haven't heard any game changing music in years though.

SomeCreep 01-27-2010 11:01 PM

I had a money tree in my backyard in the 90s. Someone stole it in 2006..:(

The Duck 01-28-2010 04:07 AM

I was just a kid ;)

TheDoc 01-28-2010 04:11 AM

I own no music from the 80's and that's when I grew up. The 80's produced the worst beats of music, in the history of modern music. Give me the 60/70's again when music was actually deep.

themadwriter 01-28-2010 04:22 AM

i agree!the 90's were a really good time for me as well

Matt 26z 01-28-2010 04:34 AM

Everything was so right about the 90's.

But my favorite thing was getting my first computer and internet connection. That was so groundbreaking at the time it was like being handed a device from the future. It just was mind blowing, really.

brassmonkey 01-28-2010 07:10 AM

its was ok lost some close fam in the 90's

JP513 01-28-2010 07:56 AM

The thing I miss about the 90s is the stock market.

The best is yet to come. You've got to get up every morning with determination if you're going to go to bed with satisfaction.

1997 - 2006 was fantastic.
The rest of the early 90's and late 2000's sucked balls.

michael.kickass 01-28-2010 01:40 PM

my favorite period is 1986-1997, musically speaking...
