On july 27 in 1976 in China (Tangshan) with an 8.0 approx. 250.000 were killed.

So an 8.6 today would show up on every news site and TV station for sure.
That means it's a hoax, new is late as usual or China just died and nobody can tell it anymore. Best guess is the first, hoax. Not sure. Just a guess based on the unknown source urls.
