Forget the BOOK OF ELI ----GO SEE "THE ROAD"
 

As far as a post apocalyptic movie goes ...book of Eli was so bad I can't believe I wasted an hour and a half watching that crap.

I think it should be a shoe in for an Academy Award...just a shame most people never heard of it.

dude the road was really good but god damn was it ever depressing!!

I just watched the book of eli last night and thought it was actually really awesome. Sure it probably is a little more far fetched then the road but at least i didn't want to slit my wrists during it LOL!

Well, they're two entirely different kind of movies, even though they have the same type of setting. It's kind of like comparing Platoon to Apocalypse Now just because they're set during the Vietnam War.

I liked Book of Eli.

I prefer The Road Warrior.

yeah you guys bring up a great point I did feel pretty damn depressed after the road so I guess the book of Eli does have that escapism factor.

"The Road" the BOOK was amazing. Read it and weep.
The movie was good and pretty authenic to the book itself. I recommend the book and semi-recommend the movie.

Did not watch "Eli" yet. Typically prefer reading the book before watching the movie, if possible.

Yep, the book had me depressed for weeks, with the movie I was fine after a couple days.

This is why I haven't seen it yet. I prefer to watch movies like that at home. I hate leaving the theatre feeling like I've been punched in the stomach.

The Wrestler took the piss out of me for two days. It was a great movie, totally loved it, but it kinda left me feeling I had just watched someone kick a puppy repeatedly for 2 hours. The Road I will wait on.

sounds great (The Road), have to watch it. The Wrestler was really good, great acting by Mickey Rourke and another outstanding work by Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream)

I read the road by Keruoac and it changed my life, not sure about this road warrior stuff

I read Yhe Road by Kerouac and can say the same thing. This other book The Road is good but not great. Haven't seen the movie.

I've been wanting to see The Road for months now,great cast so I must see it with first chance.Too bad about Eli,thought Denzel will make it great.

I got to say. I finally saw THE ROAD and even though I think it was a good movie worth seeing and I love the writer of the novel (all his work and the movie adaptations too), I was really disappointed by this movie! I'm not saying it was bad, but even though I appreciated it, I expected a lot more, maybe due to all the hype and the type of hype and source of the hype (not mainstream, but word of mouth counter culture).

I read the book "The Road" and absolutely hated it. I havent seen the movie only because I thought if it was anything like the book, there is no way I will see it.

I thought Book of Eli was actually an ok movie if you are into good bloody fight scenes and Gary Oldman.

going to wait for the DVD of Book of Eli and hope to catch The Road at the movies.

It won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction, but I guess that isn't really saying much. That's the one book of his I hadn't read yet, but I plan too. I loved NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN and ALL THE PRETTY HORSES, both movies and books.

Actually though I'm a bigger fan of Hubert Selby Jr. Read THE ROOM. There's some sickness for you.

I love movies without a happy ending if they have a point - i.e. REQUIEM FOR A DREAM, PLANET OF THE APES, THE OMEGA MAN, AMERICAN HISTORY X, etc.

The only thing I'll say about this movie is (because I don't want to give any away), they leave out way too much that I want to know about and kind of left me feeling hanging at the end.

I think the directors are too busy trying to think about how to fuck her than concentrating on their work.

The Road blows, its one big piece of bulldung screaming "see me Oscar people" - trying to be emotional and shit just for the hell of it...

If you feel The Road is better than book of eli then i think i am just going to skip Eli all together

Forgetting Sarah Marshal was hilarious, watched The Road last night, talk about a depressing movie. Driving me nuts how they never explained what caused their situation
