CCBill introduces Beta release of a new billing method for Latin American Consumers

In our ongoing quest to increase our clients throughput and ability to process for all possible consumers that are interested in their products/services, we are opening up our Beta program for Latin America DirectPay, a method to monetize the 175 million Latin American, high speed internet surfers that are currently unable to pay for goods and services online.

Clients that were involved in the early portion of our beta have seen a 10% or more increase in throughput from adding this option

How does it work?
1) A Consumer visits your site from Mexico and he clicks on your join button, he is offered the Latin America DirectPay option to make his purchase, via the banks that he is familiar with in his country.
2) The Consumer clicks on this Latin America DirectPay option, which is presented in his own language, and fills out a simple form.
3) After completing the form, the Consumer is given two sets of numbers. He can either take this information and deposit funds from his own bank account via his online banking admin; or he can choose the more common Latin American deposit method of visiting any of the many bank branches located in his area, where he can deposit the funds in cash.
4) Upon deposit of the payment, the Consumer then receives an email with his username and password credentials within 30 minutes, and the process is complete.

Q. What countries do you have in this system?
A. We currently service Mexico, but will add Brazil within the next few months. Columbia, Peru, Argentina and Chile will all be added throughout 2010, offering you over 89% of the total Latin American market reach.

Q. What are the costs for this service?
A. This system works within a much smaller banking network than the credit card associations, thus there are a number of additional costs associated with this type of transaction, However, these are transactions the credit card associations will not process, so any transactions are likely ones that you would not have gotten anyway using Credit Card options.

Transaction Price Point:
$2.95 to $24.99 30%
$25.00 to $49.99 25%
$50.00 to $99.99 20%
$100+ 15%

Q. How can I get started?
A. Go to http://www.ccbill.com/beta/ and fill out the beta information for Latin American DirectPay. You will receive follow up information on this process within 24 hours.

In closing, CCBill is offering the opportunity to finally collect from its consumers in ways that are not available from any other payment processor. Take advantage now, and start making extra money from Latin America today!

Most Mexicans I know prefer to pay with chickens or veggies. Will ccbill be accepting those?

tim-fg 01-26-2010 11:35 AM

This may be interesting.

madawgz 01-26-2010 11:43 AM

and the customer cant chargeback right?

GT-Omar 01-26-2010 11:48 AM

Nice job CCbill. It's alway been an effort to get good reliable billing out of these regions. Seeing steps taken like this is definitely in the right direction. This kind of processing along with localizing web sites is sure to increase the program owners bottom line!

Can't wait to try it out!

I don't know about ccbill but I hate veggies. However since I enjoy chicken I will do a chicken to US $ conversion at a reasonable rate for them.

That being said this is a nice bump as an extra way to convert sales that may not have been accessible before. New markets are a great way to offset losses in more saturated ones.

that is correct, these are cash deposits for the most part or online transfers, which are unable to produce refunds, chargebacks or similar.

Good news!

BVF 01-26-2010 12:01 PM

Holla at me when I can just click a button and get it started....I signed up but then I was directed to a form to print out and mail back and I haven't had a printer in years.

Great to see you guys pushing this!

We've been a fan of trying to convert Latin American traffic for EVER...

Glad to see a GOOD solution which DOES work!

We have been using your beta version for about 2 months now and are extremely happy with the results. :)

We've seen that by doing a few extra things, we maximize the potential by far:

1. Translating tours to Spanish
2. Adding Geo IP banners and ads for consumers located in Latin America by Country.
3. Adding Geo IP banners and ads to hosted galleries.

Here are examples, i hope it helps other CCBill clients!

We've seen a good 10% increase in income, just based on Mexico alone. :)

we are working on this, one of the big challenges here is that they are perishable items and we need to set up a number of drop-off centers that can validate the quantity, grade, etc. of the items...so expect to hear more about this in the future ;)

I am so glad to see this. It's what I've been preaching forever. Translated tours, and alternative billing solutions. Makes sales go up plain and simple. I'm actually in the process of installing everything as well. Glad to see it's working for you, AND you're getting a positive result from this Rico. :thumbsup:thumbsup

hahaha. :)

This is actually a really good payment method. I know alot of things in MX are paid just by making a deposit into an account at the bank.
Speeding tickets being one of them. I also believe one big dating site has been accepting this type of payments for sometime too .

nice job ccbill

Nubiles 01-26-2010 01:47 PM

We can't wait to get this setup, hopefully this week or early next week.

kaktuz 01-26-2010 01:49 PM

well one question is, is this normally limited to just one sale or do consumers deposit a lot of money in the accounts and you can count on a few rebills coming through?

Hi, let me answer this, cam sites, for instance can do this right now with a higher price point...other than that, there is something else that we have been discussing/working on that may be a good solution there as well :)

Throwing my hat into the ring here for just a moment... :)

My wife has her own English<->Spanish translation service for locals here in Puerto Rico. If anyone is interested in having their site translated to Spanish to take advantage of this new program, hit me up and I can hook you up with her.
