Domain parking...
 

I see some of you are parking a lot of domains. Are there any money in this?

That would of course have to do with the amount of traffic the domain get's. If your domain get's natural type-in's It might be a good idea to park but if your name is something like spankyspornoplaza.com It be better to develop It :P

On the other hand It's always better to develop, parking is when you have many generic domains or very premium ones IMO.

yes, i currently park some adult domains, and i get about 20-30$ per 1000 uniques. Which is generally better than sending the traffic directly to an adult sponsor.

I have some ideas why this might be the case - aka why adult parking converts better than affiliates.

Of course the real q is how many to the page to get the 1000 uniq click thru. :)

Generally click thru is mediocre at best with the parking I've tried.

Redir em to a site. At least then the traffic may grow to that domain as you will prob get a couple bookmarkers who want the site they found thru the domain.

I have parked a few domains at Sedo now... Not great domains, but ok. Will let them stay for a month and then I will see... If no money I might add some adsense ads and "tweak" them a bit.

Put your domain on autopilot while increasing traffic to it. Parking is just a true waste of money.

I used parked.com for my domains a couple of years ago...the results were not very good, except for 1 casino gambling domain that did very well several dollars a week with very little traffic.

If you are going to park domains I would go with someone who pays the most PPC and I would enter the domains in all the search engines. Most people just buy a name and park it, but if it is not indexed in search engines no one knows it exists.

You might want to check what the professional domainers are using...

Webmasters are parking most of their domains because they make more money that way, than by promoting something people will never buy, because it's free...

BTW, SEDO pays... while many adult sponsors are either dead and/or not paying lately, so the risk is high and they prefer to go for somethign secure.
