Beach house : $105 pr night (not per person, the whole place)

In San prdro, & island of Ambergris VERY safe, small town and everyone here is friendly.

Dont stay in Belize on the mainland though, that place has a rep of being a bit rough.

lived in SP for 9 months but the internet connection just did me in, way too bad!

and yeah.. lol some of the locals are totally freaking hot, and then there are others that leave a lot to be desired.. but that's the same anywhere

Belize has this tendency to block things .. ie: VOIP rarely works, SKYPE never works (or didn't for me anyways), cellphones - you need to get a separate chip to make your phone work (mostly), and hell they even ban Pepsi (the regular kind) since the Bowen's have the distribution for Coke and so they don't want the competition (LOL)

They do have Hughes.net though, through Xtreme Geeks (they're up by the High School) - but it's bloody expensive to get set up, and the monthly fee is also pretty pricey. But then, you're paying through the nose for internet there anyways (I think it was $100 USD or so for a 256Kb connection:warning)

Loch, don't miss out on the chicken drop!!! They do it Wednesdays around 6-7ish and it's hilarious

Edit: Internet is about 50 bucks now for that speed which is still crazy

I should be back there for my third time very soon.....There's ladies night on Wednesday in San Pedro right at the bar where you get off of the watertaxi...Tons of hoes in there....

However, you MUST spend a little time in Caye Caulker while you're there, which is a quick trip by watertaxi....You won't regret it.

Heard great things about it but to be honest i think we will come back here next year and go through all that over 3 or so days.

Well on ambergris caye there is only one city which is San Pedro...so that is where you should go.

I wouldent recomend a hotel as the beach condos or houses are WAY better and have aircon in 95% of the cases.

Yes....Just go there for the day and have a beer...You can also swim in the water....The diving board is no longer there....they also make good fried fish...Then you can inquire about catching a tour on the rasta boat which docks there.

If you don't go to Caye Caulker while you are there YOU WILL REGRET IT!!...

I've been to Belize twice....the second time, I made a day trip to SP....I didn't like it too much but I regretted not visiting it the first time I went.

looks great. how much to stay, my girl and i are looking for a quick and dirty getaway after the olympics (around a week). is there enough to do there to spend 5 or 6 days? i'm not into diving (get to claustrophobic), but love to swim, snorkle, explore, etc.
