Any Excel pro's? Need trimming sentences from other cell
 

Been looking for this for ages, can't this be done without programming?

We just need a short description of a long one in another cell, say 20-25 words of cell X.

If I understand you correctly you should be able to do it by simply using =RIGHT(A1;25), where A1 is the cell with original text and 25 the number of characters you want

If that works, that'd be even easier. I'll look at that tool later then as it does seem handy.

Any idea how to combine this with some html character strip function? There's html in the long descr. causing layout issues when stripped.

How much HTML formatting do you have in the first 20/25 characters? You could highlight the column then use Replace to change the HTML code to null.
