bad beats is all that comes to my mind. that and a little lady luck in your corner. doesnt take 100% skill to make it to the final table of WSOP. Some skill but WAY more luck

The same way any other celeb or star becomes broke.

Money gets to your head and you continue to spend. Plenty of celebs and wealthy people that are millions in debt

Yeah apparently he lost the majority of his money playing craps but damn, thats a lot of money to just throw away, pretty pathetic you would have to sell your bracelet for 3k.

Wizzo 01-22-2010 01:13 PM

The risk of being a gambler...:winkwink:

madawgz 01-22-2010 01:28 PM

seems that he lost all his money at the craps table...

Sebastian Sands 01-22-2010 01:36 PM

they do not look at money the same way most people do. Except for the moment when their bankroll get's to an uncomfortable level.

CE_Rashaan 01-22-2010 01:37 PM

Alot of these guys have backers. Out of all that money he won it could be that he only got 20% of it.

fatfoo 01-22-2010 02:47 PM

$9,787,199 - that's a lot of money.

Wow - my silver and gold collection is worth a lot less.

idtapdat 01-22-2010 03:50 PM

I have read about how these guys will win and loose 400k+ in a night playing cash games. There is even video of Gus Hansen beating Daniel Negreanu in a hand and winning 200K+ off of him. They are always talking about how most of these guys are degenerate gamblers who bet each other thousands of dollars on things all the time so I'm not shocked by this at all.

This. Poker players don't always play with their own money, a lot of them have sponsors and they only keep a percentage of what they win. I was talking to someone the other day who works in real estate and said he was working on something for one of the top poker players (I don't remember who because I'm not really into it) and that he only made about 100 grand a year

you can have all the skills in the world, but if you can't practice bankroll management, even $10 mill can be gone within a few days.

gaffg 01-23-2010 03:20 AM
