For those that don't know me. I started in this biz around 1995. I am an se person. Everyone old school knows me. I posted on Ynot and Net@Pond helping webmasters and working with webmasters. I was around when Fantacyman and Serge had there great war on Ynot. I got my traffic from seach engines, still do. I learned a long time ago, you want to make money, make the search engines like a video game. While my friends was out beating video games I was beating search engines. After years of hard work, working 16 to 18 hour days. I sold eveything and pretty much retired. I made my money why stick around. Then about 6 months after I retired I was contacted to work for Net@Pond, I was bored it was only the Newbie board and 1 to 2 hours a day if that. I figured what the hell. When it came down to payment, I cut it by $500 from the origanal offer. I was still the highest paid board mod in the industry. I liked Net@Pond, I like helping newbies, it gave me something to do. I am not in this shit for the money anymore. The time I spend now working is to keep up to date to help webmasters. People have taken what I have taught them and made millions of dollars. When Net@Pond was crashing and not paying I wasn't worried, because they never paid me on time anyway, but it always came. It wasn't like I needed the money so I didn't care. I think at the end they was 7 or 8 months behind. I am still around, I read the boards mostly, just for something to do. But every time I see the word sleazy its me. I am the first and real sleazy. I didn't post a lot on gfy because I was under contract with Net@Pond. I did learn a hard leason from Net@Pond, never stick up for anyone in this business. No matter how well you know them or think you do. I got my ass handed to me on a platter. I am working on what I like to do best, help webmasters learn and be profitable. I am not using anyones name or board to do it either. Its just not my way.

Sleazybear has always been a good guy to me. As has SleazyDream, actually.

Also, I have been in the industry for way more than 5 years and I can't be even close to being the only one that knows there is more than one 'sleazy'. If somebody mentions a 'sleazy' to you it fully depends on which board they visit on who they mean.

No there really is a guy named SeGuru. Se's was simple then. Altavista loved an image and a domain name and a link out with an H1 header. Yahoo was a bit harder because of real people doing the listings, but Altavista fed Yahoo's listings, before google. Lycos was simple it liked words 250 words with a key weight of 2 to 4%. Then there was also what was called the engine back door. You wanted your site listed high in any of the engines, you gave it a third tier, now very much illegal as it will get you sued. But setting up a domain as yahoo.yourdomain.com was a way to get high in the listings. Then the killer came to pass, Dmoz. Dmoz was this little known engine, when Aol bought Netscape, Netscape had this search engine called Dmoz hand edited. Aol was all jumpy about it, they used it at search.aol.com. What they key there was make the editors happy, get listed, then when Aol picked it up do a server side and redirect the traffic straight to a sponsor. Dmoz would still this nice clean site, Aol surfers got jacked to a sponsor. Then some editors got greedy and started charging for listings and doing some other crap that they shouldn't of been doing. I had over 2000 listings with Dmoz and Aol. There was a little note on my monitor that said "Build for Dmoz, the money is in Dmoz.
Google uses a lot of the old stuff from the old engines. I have a bunch of sites using differnt stuff from the old engines that are listed in the top 10.

How I made my way to the pond back in the day was Dokk was giving an irc workshop on seach engines. Now there was a search engine master.

I'm not going to vouch for SleazyBear as I don't really know him very well but I will say that the few times I have met him, he was always polite and seemed willing to help anybody who asked.

I'll also add that a good friend of mine, who got me into this business full time, has always spoken very highly of his interactions with SleazyBear. Of the few others who have mentioned his name to me over the years, NOT ONE of them had anything bad to say.

I am not into getting anyone banned, we both have a different opinion, I think. I never scammed anyone. I got caught up in a mess and was to loyal to people I believed in. It wasn't me that owes people a boat load of money. If you have the right person that knows what there doing, money in this biz flows like water. The problem now is that some of these paysite owners, and large site owners, don't have the skills needed to make sales. Things are getting harder to make sales, so the sites that are run by people with non skills are crashing hard. I have one site that is one of my smaller sites, gets around 1000 clicks a day, out of that 1000, 2 to 300 are clicking to the sponsor, out of those 2 to 300, I am pulling in 5 to 8 sales a day. Yes they are cam sales, yes some are repeat offenders. But the checks all clear the bank. I am old school and thats what I use is old school stuff. 1/4 and full page adds between content. Dhtml consoles. Html around images. A lot of folks started in this biz with bullshit rules. Tgp and link list rules. Screw that shit, when your traffic comes from somewhere other than those sites, sell the surfer, like your trying to fuck his sister.

But, he did drag a lot of people straight into the gutter at net thingy knowing full well it was a total scam and going down the plug hole. He only got nice when the money ran out. that is pretty obvious.

As has already been said, anyone who's been around for a while and pays attention knows there are two Sleazys, in two different worlds that barely intersect.

Nope sorry wasn't me. I have not been broke since 1995, second month I started in this biz. I wasn't really broke then. Not what I would consider really broke. I had a regular job this was a hobby. Back in 95 most webmasters would buy a domain $100 get hosting, then try to drive traffic to that site. I realized why try and drive traffic to one site when you could have more than one site to drive traffic to, your own network of sites.

As far as the pond thing and me leading people down the road, yep I did do that. But when you work with 2 guys for so many years. Watch them shell out money like water at internext, hosting, domains and everything else they did for people. They was good guys. I never expected them to tank. It wasn't till after I left that some people got a hold of me and told me some facts I didn't know. If I would of known then what I know now, I would of left years ago. I still to this day, do not know the whole story. I did my job, did what I was told to do. I no longer trust anyone in this industry, its all about monitary gain to most. Me money isn't the most important thing in the world.

As far as the post of me doing link trades. Sorry I don't do link trades, don't sell traffic. Why should I, I have my own sites that interact with each other, my traffic is se traffic. Or I just send traffic straight to a sponsor. So thats bullshit from the get go.

Old school basics still works, its just rules have changed over the years. But try and teach webmasters that a site doesn't have to play by bullshit rules, when not getting traffic that requires those rules. Webmasters are so tied up these days with bookmarked surfers. I want a surfer to like my site, screw that, get them in get them to a sponsor, you don't make money with a surfer sitting at your site pounding his pud. One of the best sites I ever made was a site with 3 images. The first page was a normal looking free site index page. Second page was a picture, that was normal, third picture was messed up only half of it looked like it loaded. Third image only a quarter of it loaded. Under the image a text link, If this image does not load correctly click this link. Sure enough that site was 99% to a sponsor.

You want more traffic to a sponsor, don't load a image at the top of the page, have it linked but broken, you will increase your click on that banner, because the surfer wants to know where in the hell it goes. Cybererotica now Cecash had a banner at one time for webmaster that was like ASRDGFKF didn't mean jack shit, but surfers clicked on it just to find out what the hell it was and where it went.

Old school shit works just as good now as it did back then, because surfers have never seen it. You can have a million surfers a day, but if you don't know how to sell it, you have just that a million surfers a day.

I think I am done with this thread.. I see no reason to answer bullshit in the first place. My main intent was for webmasters to realize that SleazyBear was long before Sleazydream and the nick Sleazy was basicly stolen, why else would someone trademark a sleazy name if they didnt think that they was ripping something from someone.
