All mobile phone owners in here!!

Im ready for testphase part 2, hope you guys are too :thumbsup

We added, i think, the most common mobile video formats now, with different resolutions too to give the surfers an easy porn experience. But, off course, we need to test them out on a live audience.

Grab your phones gentlepeople, its much appreciated!!

Here goes:

1. Go to www.imobileporn.com on your phone-> click the thumb of the test2 video
2. Click the videolink MATCHING YOUR phone, and tell me the following:

- What phone/brand did you test? (Please be as detailed as possible)
- Did the video play like it should matching the link of your phonebrand?
- Did audio work?
- How was the quality of the video/audio, and did it load with a good speed?
- Did the video fit your display or did you have to adjust it manually? (to big/small)

That are the most important questions for now, i know we are all busy but please help me out a bit and i will post a nice pic later :winkwink:

Btw. general experiences/likes/dislikes/suggestions can be put here too so i know what i need to fix.

none of the formats?
i think android should play mp4, cant find what other format to encode into for android..

xenigo 01-18-2010 05:16 AM

I surfed your test page using a Blackberry Bold 9000 w/ 480x320 resolution display, and I had a horizontal scroll bar in additional to a vertical scroll bar. I feel like the best user experience does away with the horizontal bar...

But the video did look very crisp. It fit the display perfectly, and looked like it was encoded to match the resolution of the this particular display... unlike many mobile video sites. The audio sounded fine. On my wireless connection it buffered a couple times, but it wasn't a terrible wait.

-quality good, loads fast, better than average
-manual full screen looks great

Blackberry Curve 8330 (Sprint)
Video would not play. Gave me a general error after trying to buffer - "The media being played is of an unsupported format"

Did ask me if I wanted to open or save and I chose open.

kristin 01-18-2010 07:50 AM

- iPhone
- Yes
- Yes
- Yes
- Fit with no scrolling

You have this Brazzers banner up there, not sure what that is. ;)

(I kid.)

Jon Oso 01-18-2010 07:59 AM

I'm using a mytouch 3g with google and here are my results.

- What phone/brand did you test? (Please be as detailed as possible)
Mytouch 3G with Google, I had to use the "Watch Iphone" to get both audio and video to work. Video would work on the blackberry option (I first selected the one for other phones fwiw).

- Did the video play like it should matching the link of your phonebrand?
No, see above.

- Did audio work?
Only when I selected the iphone option

- How was the quality of the video/audio, and did it load with a good speed?
Quality of the video was great for how fast it loaded - the site loaded at a decent speed, the video popped up really quick. When I got the audio to work I could hear it but it didn't sound like too much was going on.

- Did the video fit your display or did you have to adjust it manually? (to big/small)
Autoadjusted perfectly the first time.

candyflip 01-18-2010 09:12 AM

Samsung Moment (Android 1.5) - clicked Symbian and Other
Video Played
Audio Played
Quality was fantastic
Video was centered, no need to scroll...but did not fill the entire screen.

Jack Sparrow 01-18-2010 09:36 AM

Thanks all! Really helping me out here!

Weird that it plays on one blackberry and then on another it doesnt.

Thanks thanks thanks!

The iPhone link plays on my HTC Hero (Android)

candyflip 01-18-2010 09:48 AM

The iPhone video also played on my Android phone, same results.

spankmo 01-18-2010 10:07 AM

blackberry is a bitch, very inconsistent platform.. anyhow, worked fine on my first gen iPhone over wifi. hit me up if you want to talk mobile.. cheers

CYF 01-18-2010 10:16 AM

I've got a G1 with android 1.6. Clicking on Symbian and others says the video can't be played. Plays really nice when I click the iphone link. The video filled the whole screen with no scroll bars.

docputer 01-18-2010 10:22 AM

On my Blackberry Curve 8330's Sprint and Verizon neither worked.

I tried using another browser(Opera) and it got to the loading page and it reopened the Blackberry browser, then failed.

The Truth Hurts 01-18-2010 10:26 AM

iphone 3gs/32g
you have scaling/zooming disable which kind of sucks...
especially with the tiny list of links for the video options... maybe space them out a bit.
the video played (loaded fast over wifi).. looked good, but did not fill the screen.. was letterboxed even after expanding it.

Welcome to BB. You will make it work for the Storm, then Storm 2 comes out and it's completely different.

BB is unique since they send them through their own proxy and that's why BB users have to download to their device before watching.

you need .mp4 h.264 codec.... simply .mp4 with mpeg4 doesn't cut it. :2 cents:

Iphone 3G
Video is squished (wrong aspect ratio) but problem could be with original source not code
Audio did NOT work. Heard a CRUNCH at one point but nothing else.
Video loaded quickly but frame rate is low (about 15fps I think). Again could be source issue nothing else
Video fit correctly.

Nice Program!!! :)

Nicky 01-19-2010 11:59 AM

Iphone 3GS/16gb

Video played
audio played
good quality, pretty fast
manual full-screen

- How was the quality of the video/audio, and did it load with a good speed? - N/A
- Did the video fit your display or did you have to adjust it manually? (to big/small) - N/A

Blackberries playing video is a matter of how current the operating system is. The older 4.2 which is common on most Curve 8310's does not play video. If you were tech savvy, you could upgrade the 8310 to a more current version that could play video, but it didn't come that way out of the box.

The problem is that there's this power-struggle between the carriers and Research In Motion when new OS's are released... AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon all have different testing requirements and the builds are customized specifically with the carriers needs and desires in mind. Research In Motion might make an operating system available with some great new features, but the carrier will refuse to release it until they do their testing which they never seem to expedite. That's why you see so many compatibility issues...

The 8330 should be able to play video with the current 4.5 OS.

My Bold 9000 has the 4.6.0.297 OS. All fairly recent Blackberries should also be able to play video.

Using the Blackberry browser, your site does not load at all. I get a blank screen. The good news is that using Opera Mini 5 Beta 2, the site loads.

- Blackberry Storm 9530

- Video played

- Audio worked

- Video quality and speed very good.

- Video fit without scrolling, etc. Great for one-hand-stroking while holding the phone in the other. :winkwink:

Damn blackberry's, im getting the idea its not the encoding so much but more the version of the software running on those bb's :)

Not sure how to fix this.

Well scaling/zooming on the site isnt there because its design is fully customised for mobiles. In fact, iphones, but i might need to change that around a bit then. Good point.

The links will have bigger fonts, i indeed had a hard time to push the right link too.

Its weird that the video didnt fit/fill the screen, might have had something to do with the original, at this point all iphones played it well i think.

Well.. what can i say. If BB doesnt even have its own followup software then how can i ever get it to work for everyone :)

Having it mp4 h264 and mp4 x264. Shouldnt be the problem, still looking to get it working though.

What video did you watch? The encoding framerate is at 20 or 25fps (should have to check). Could you try another video and see if it was the video/audio of the source or the encoding?

And thanks for the compliment :)

Just tested with my Sony Ericsson Satio (Symbian Series 60, 5th edition) and the symbian option does not work for me. The iphone option works just fine though and the quality etc is good. This was the standard satio browser though, let me know if you want me to test it using opera.
