Steak houses in Vegas?

I'm meeting up with friends in Vegas next week and they're looking for a place comparable to Charley's Steak House in Orlando, Fl. Last time we met in Vegas, I took them to Craftsteak Steak House at the MGM Grand and they hated it, I hated it also.

I asked the VIP host at Craftsteak Steak House what made them special and he responded by saying they had the widest selection of steaks. He never mentioned anything about taste or style of cooking.

Anyway, Charley's Steak House cooks their steaks over a wood fire grill. They offer aged beef and the beef virtually melts in your mouth. I don't recall the type of steak we had at Charley's but it was $80 per plate. If you know of any steak house like this in Vegas, I would appreciate you letting me know.

A good call as well :)

There is a small place in the N.W. of Vegas that has been there for a long time. It's called The Ranch House. It is the complete opposite of all those b.s. "steak houses" on the strip.

It's the best tasting steaks in town. A filet with a baked potato is under $30 including a salad as well.

It's a legit steak house ran by the same folks for a few decades.

May be too far off the beaten path for you, but it's the best as far as delicious steaks go.

This is excellent. THANK YOU ALL!

My friends will be arriving in Vegas on Jan 18th for the Shot Show and we will at least be able to try 3 of the steak houses mentioned here. I will start reading up on them and make reservations.

I like steak. I eat it half-raw, with a little blood.

AZNNC 01-16-2010 03:35 PM

Treasures :)

NOTR 01-17-2010 12:53 AM

Cut at the Palazzo, best Kobe and service in town.

If your on a budget Striphouse at PH.

NemesisEnforcer 01-20-2010 10:16 AM

The FBI ruined our dinner plans. Our British guests were arrested at the Shot Show yesterday for alleged violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (paying bribes). Details are on Politico.

All is not lost, our Taiwanese guests are ok and we will try one of the steak houses tonight. Dinner for 4 instead of 7. :(

dready 01-20-2010 10:43 AM

I've only been to Strip Steak at Mandalay Bay but it was awesome.

TheDoc 01-20-2010 10:49 AM

Smith & Wollensky is one of the top places in the city for steak and other food too, for a reason... quality, imports daily on all types of stuff, quality service too - but they damn well better, the cost is next level as well.

LAJ 01-20-2010 11:13 AM

ANother vote here for Smith & Wollensky

james_clickmemedia 01-20-2010 11:28 AM

I am not a big steak eater however N9ne is always good....

I have been to the Smith & Wollensky in Miami and is FANTASTIC Vegas should be the same

sperbonzo 05-26-2010 10:32 AM

Personally, I prefer the steakhouse at Bally's. Old School style steakhouse, with a good wine list
