I will be giving some money today when I visit the bank.

Iron Fist 01-15-2010 11:32 AM

Sad indeed.... glad I live in Canada... no earthquakes in Winnipeg... ever.

StaceyJo 01-15-2010 11:39 AM

My prayers goes with them. :(

fatfoo 01-15-2010 11:45 AM

Unfortunate that the earthquake happened.

Seriously, if you've seen any of the video of the buildings falling. These poor people didn't have a seconds chance. If you were inside, you went down with the building.

V_RocKs 01-15-2010 12:06 PM

That all sucks... They should become part of the global economy and learn to take care of themselves.

rollinthunder 01-15-2010 12:09 PM

Are these pics before or after the earthquake?

Sharky 01-15-2010 12:12 PM

And sadly these aren't even the wildest pictures.
The pics of kids are what really brings me to tears.

seoguyzzz 01-15-2010 12:25 PM

so sad!!!

BillyHoe 01-15-2010 12:28 PM

When you think you've got it rough. Pics like this make you think it could be worse. Sad to see.

GetSCORECash 01-15-2010 01:50 PM

It's terrible, I can't watch the news.

rayadp05 01-15-2010 02:08 PM

Massive devastation and a very high number of deaths. Very sad situation. It will be a long time before they recover from this terrible tragedy.

Niktamer 01-15-2010 02:21 PM

horrible pics, gonna give a few hundred to the red cross right now

Im thinking about giving 5$ to the red cross for every premium membership i make on my sites.

LiveDose 01-15-2010 03:02 PM

That is heartbreaking. Haiti has such a tragic and sad history in regards to it's citizens.

Martin 01-15-2010 03:43 PM

I donated a few dollars to the Red Cross via online banking. If you can, donate a few bucks and lets help these people out. Takes 2 seconds to set up.

Cheers.

hotcontent 01-15-2010 06:57 PM

very sad pics...

CYF 01-15-2010 07:00 PM

* People who want to help those affected by the Haitian earthquake can make a donation to the American Red Cross International Response Fund at Redcross.org or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.

* The Red Cross is also receiving money through a third party mobile fundraising effort sponsored by Mobile Accord. Mobile donors can text “Haiti” to 90999 to send a ten dollar donation to the Red Cross. The funds will go to support the Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti.

:thumbsup

You should really learn your history and find out why they are so poor. You really have no clue what you are talking about here.

Really sad pictures, I always tend to avoid seeing stuff like this, too depressing..

bloggerz 01-17-2010 10:03 PM

sad for all the people there :(

Shey 01-17-2010 10:13 PM

And this is why I pulled out my wallet and donated. Not a lot, mind you but any little bit helps.

Spunky 01-17-2010 10:20 PM

Moving pix,poor people

SomeCreep 01-17-2010 10:54 PM

Man, they must party hard over there! That's some serious wreckage.

goldflower 01-18-2010 02:30 AM

I dont like this pics :( :( :(

tiptop 01-18-2010 02:35 AM

the big question is what will happen to all the children that lost their parents?

xxxdvdbuy 01-18-2010 04:43 AM

be careful who you donate too.. do your research. You can't loose with Red-Cross but notice now how all the charities or donation networks are coming out of the woodwork!.

Remember when you donate $1.00 to the Red Cross those people in need get about 80 cents which is better then most organizations.

Me too, and that is why they do it. It breaks our hearts and they count on that to get us to give. Without such imagery, we would not donate. It would just be another disaster that we were detached from. Did any of you donate for Pakistan or Turkey when they had their massive quakes? Of course not. Because we didn't have to see it.

Think about all the heart breaking disasters that happen world wide every year. Floods, famine, land slides, quakes, all with 1000s of people dead BUT most of it gets more than a blip on the news. Because of this we don't open our wallets because we don't understand the magnitude of the disaster. It's not in our face, death on a massive scale, so we don't skip a beat and go on with our daily lives.

The media could do more to help people around the world if they would cover every disaster a little more. Put it in our face and make us watch it, and we will give.

You cant loose with RedCross??? Thats a nice way to think about it but you are wrong.

Anyway we did donate and we also dropped some food and articles in with the rotary club here.. Lots of stations asking for things and we have left stuff.

I donated $500 yesterday. Been awhile since I donated money or time to any cause so I gave a bit extra.

gandalfuy 01-18-2010 10:37 AM

Poor people. They don't have good luck at all, not one bit!
