Ive always raced I just took 10 years off for porn. That day was the Redline Time Attack appreciation day and I was running in the advanced group. We are running a R56 turbo MINI with a OS Giken 1 way diff, big front mount intercooler, open exhaust, r3 brake pads and believe it or not ABF springs with stock struts. More mods are being done right now ie 6 point cage, bigger turbo, coilovers, rear sway bar, front splitter, rear diffuser, and a few other goodies. 1:27 at streets of willow is blazing fast, the MINI is just amazing. Im also the vip instructor for the MINI driving experience and I will post the dates and cities we will be at this year if any of you want to test drive the new MINI's on our auto-x courses plus its free.

dav3 01-14-2010 12:48 AM

lol nice

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 01-14-2010 12:58 AM

Dez, you have got to take me out for a ride the next time you are up in NorCal (Infineon or wherever)...

I am assuming your in-car camera is mounted. What are you using, and how is it mounted?

Any special post-production software (i.e., Shake for image stabilization), because that video looks great, considering that you are hauling ass! :thumbsup

ADG

NetHorse 01-14-2010 01:11 AM

Man I want to race at Willow, honestly it looked like you beat the drivers though you seemed to know the track a lot better them. :2 cents: Nice driving though..:thumbsup

BTW, what's all done to your Mini Cooper?

Mr. E 01-14-2010 01:11 AM

Not bad driving and nice times, but at the 2:26 mark, you can see the driver of the GT-R wave at you to go around him and lets you pass. I have a turbo'd ZX3 Focus pushing 300hp to the wheels and have been on tracks with Z06s and GT-Rs. With a capable driver, both are VERY hard to catch and pass as they are both stellar track cars. Congrats, I would love to run Willow.

papill0n 01-14-2010 01:16 AM

good luck man that thing looks like it handles tight!

:2 cents: A stock z06 on run flats is a force to be reckoned with when a great experienced driver is behind the wheel, with race compounds it's just sick. The GT-R is just ridiculous out of the box, especially on long sweeping curves.

BTW, I wish we got the Focus RS here in the states, I would totally buy one!!!

GrouchyAdmin 01-14-2010 01:54 AM

Videogames are getting more and more realistic. :thumbsup :1orglaugh

Yep, they are nice but you can build your own if you really want one. Mine has more power and its 720lbs lighter than the RS as well :thumbsup The RS is a better track car than mine currently though. They are fun.

D Ghost 01-14-2010 02:00 AM

Nice work man, great vids... got any pics of your Mini?

TidalWave 01-14-2010 02:15 AM

I know who's GTR that is, lol
Funny how ever reaching GFY is

CunningStunt 01-14-2010 02:28 AM

Looks fun.

I heard most Corvette owners are women though. They certainly drive like it in that vid :)

How does if go against a WRX STi? I'm pretty sure I could go round those corners faster, sideways.

Safe driving.

You will never... EVER... forget a drive with Dez... dude handles the shit out of those tracks. The mini will give you the ride of your life... the white beast will make you question life. :warning:thumbsup

My Mini is the most fun to drive. I'm thinking of dumping the Conv. S this year to get my hands on a new John Cooper Works model.

pornguy 01-14-2010 07:56 AM

Hope you got a good insurance policy on your self.

quiet 01-14-2010 08:08 AM

very nice driving, car looks sweet.

atom 01-14-2010 08:14 AM

Great vids, always enjoy watching new racing stuff. I miss my Z06 :( At least now I dont get tickets.

tranza 01-14-2010 08:52 AM

very cool race, nice driving.

HeelCash 01-14-2010 08:53 AM

It's a mini-adventure!

ravo 01-14-2010 09:07 AM

Very nice! I've done Streets of Willow on a bike (Keith Code School), and it's indeed a small tight track that would certainly favour small good handling cars, and those drivers that can get monster drives out of tight corners.

Nice driving Dez! You can see the Vette has way more power than your Mini when he walks away from you on the front straight. But, you haul him back in the tight stuff.

Dez 01-14-2010 10:31 PM

Thanks for all of the great compliments! ADG we will be at Candle Stick park in SF in early March so please come out and drive with us. www.ABFmotoring.com is where you can sign up for the events and see what cities we are coming to. We are still adding new dates so please keep checking the website. I do have a life insurance policy and the MINI I will be driving this year will have a 6-point cage, fire surpression system and I will be wearing a HANS device so hopefully I wont bite the dust if I wreck. We are testing a bunch of product on the car this year in preparation for our MINI spec series in 2011 so we are going all crazy on the motor and trying to make 450hp or anything, we are hopefully going to have about 300whp to make things reliable. As for a STI beating the MINI at streets of willow it will be pretty tough, I own a 550whp 580tq 08 STI and I run 127's on street tires however my STI is set up for big tracks like autoclub speedway and Big willow. Go MINI!

I think we were using a GoPro camera with a sucker mount on the front winshield inside the car, worked pretty well I think. Usually we use a roll cage camera mount behind the driver but we got some free GoPro's and tried them out. I will be racing Infineon Oct. 23,24th and Dec. 5th I will be racing the 25 hours of Thunderhill so you will have to come out for those races!

Anadrol 01-14-2010 11:45 PM

I have been on that track a few times in my Lotuses ... Love it but makes me sick after 5 laps ...

one quick question have you considered doing a few laps with the head instructor there ... cuz I saw a few things that could have made ya do a way faster run

I saw the Italian Job, so I'm down for it - just remind me to take a crap and puke before I get into the car, as I wouldn't want to soil the interior (j/k, I have flown inside Navy jets before).

That's awesome man, wow a 550whp STI must be nuts! I'm surprised it's not trapping 130mph considering they're pretty light..

I have a 502rwhp/488rwtq Cobra with a few track modifications to the front/rear suspension & brakes.. I don't race it much though, it's primarily a street warrior for me. Wish I had something else to really push at the road course.

TidalWave 01-15-2010 12:12 AM

Hmm, I have a 530AWHP, 530AWTQ GTR and I've run 129Mph in the 1/4 with a bad launch and street tires.

All depends on the track, the day, the temperature, the DA and more :)

quiet 01-15-2010 12:15 AM

wtf does a quarter mile have to do with this lol?

I meant 1:27's at streets of willow, my STi runs 10.90 in road race form 134trap in the 1/4. The STI weighs 2750 dry.

Well that's true as well, but GTRs are like what 3850lbs? What's an STI, like 3300lbs? 530whp in a 3300lb car will roll the fuck out. :)

No it was my fault he really wasn't saying anything about 1/4 mile times.. I'm just a 1/4 mile junkie, I see a # like 127 and assume he's talking about trap speeds. :1orglaugh

I am an instructor myself but I always have other instructors help me work out my bad habits but honestly I dont care if Schumie was driving the car it wouldnt go faster than a 1:27. Remember we were on upgraded springs and street tires(Yoko Neova's) and stock shocks so I am pretty amazed we ran as fast as we did. Also the line for that track is much different in a rear drive/mid engine Lotus and we had no camber adjustment for the fron so the only way we could get the car to rotate a little bit was with tire pressures.

james_clickmemedia 01-15-2010 05:01 AM

wow, one of the first cars I ever drove when I was like 13 was a mini cooper. Is was not like that however I still managed to loose control in an apple field and hit one of the apple tries side on... What scared me most was about 5 secs after I hit the tree an apple fell from the tree a hit the roof and I jumped about a foot in the air.

I was told not to take the car out that day as the grass was still a little wet !!

Thanks for your help!

fuck that video made me motion sick a bit. pretty cool though.

i don't think racing Mini's can compare to banging new 18 year old's for money. maybe a ride in Formula 1 or Nascar - but i still think banging 18 year old's is better than hanging out with hillbillies in Nascar and Euro twats in Formula 1.
