cheating program

Before blaming program for theft, I need your advice what is best way to check is program cheating it's webmasters. I still won't write program name, but I saw some money in stats and no conversions for a long time period. So I've told a friend to buy $1 membership so I can check what is going on, and I wasn't credited for a sale. (sale was made several hours ago). If I buy membership with my CC card (same name as affiliate account owner), will that be considered fraud?

thanks

$1 trials usually don't payout unless it converts to a full membership, (if you're pushing PPS links). Test the revshare, but they can still ban your account for doing it..:upsidedow

Why? As I understand his post he has sent joins before ... if he would signup for the affiliate program and then join the site i'd suspect he would just wanted to join for the half price - but if he sent joins before it's clear that he's a webmaster.

But to be safe, just ask your friend to buy another membership?

Why? Because most programs don't want you signing up under your own affiliate ID..Especially if it's PPS, (because they're paying you a higher rate assuming some people will rebill).

Did you watch your friend sign-up? Maybe they fucked up.

If you don't get credited, how can it be fraud from your side?

If you get credited, then tell them afterwards you did a test signup and to cancel it. If they don't like that, well.. then fuck them. This is porn business - not Disney Land.

Hit them up telling them that you did a test join and want a refund.

That way, it's not cheating because you are not trying to make a commission off that sale.

Any sponsor that doesn't let you do test joins -- or cancels your affiliate because you do (so long as you disclose to them that you did a test join after-the-fact) -- is probably hiding something, anyway.

If you really want to test them out, don't mention that you noticed you were not credited for the sale and then see if it magically shows up and then disappears as a refund after-the-fact. If that happens, I'd be extremely cautious with the program and have friends friends that are not local to you test them as well.

Honest sponsors have no problem with you doing *occassional* test joins so long as you disclose it to them when you're done with the test.

Most programs have a "no exceptions" policy to self-joins in place, it would seem, to prevent you from discovering their shave. Money is not lost by a webmaster doing a test signup with his own account.

On a slightly different note, Zombaio has something in their TOS that says it's somehow against VISA regulations to allow a webmaster to join their own site. Not sure why that would be...
