Apple's Dual-Core iPhone 4G With OLED Screen in April

Officials at KT, the exclusive provider of the iPhone in South Korea, have allegedly said Apple could debut a new iPhone with an OLED screen, video chat and a removable battery as soon as April.

The Korea Times claimed Tuesday that sources at KT said the new phone would have an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screen, would feature video chat functionality, and a removable battery is "highly likely." The report also said the new iPhone would include dual-core processors, more powerful graphics capabilities, and a superior camera.

fmltube 01-12-2010 01:12 PM

Cue Robert Day to claim its happening and also on Sprint as well.....IF he can take a moment away from being the largest porn distributor in the world.

SinisterStudios 01-12-2010 01:35 PM

I had my first video phone about 5-6 years ago and since then the technology faded out again.

The original idea with the 3G/UMTS networks was the video conferencing capabilities but it seems that it seems the technology disappeared again.

It is pretty cool to be able to call someone on a video phone wherever you are to show something (landmarks, products etc)

Bird 01-12-2010 08:18 PM

How can I do video reflection like that

epitome 01-12-2010 08:28 PM

Even if this happens, the US market would probably never see those features.

A country like South Korea could though, as they have mobile networks that far surpass ours.

How would this even work if AT&T cannot provide data service as soon as more than three iPhone users enter the same room?

kmanrox 01-12-2010 09:09 PM

fake or not it gives me a reason to milk my 3g a few more months instead of upgrading to the 3GS heh thx persey!

tony286 01-12-2010 09:28 PM

if it has the same shitty cell radio in it who cares. Its a great internet device by as a phone it truly blows. I want to see if att will split my account so my nokia can be my phone and my iphone be my dataplan.

Bossman 01-13-2010 02:02 AM

No matter if its fake, then its only a matter of time, before Apple (or someone else) gets a decent mobile cam phone in circulation.

Like Due said, then a front cam would be the real revolution (well at least in adult). Phone sex would be replaced by cam sex (well, even more than it already has)

Better network would be nice, but its not a deal breaker - most adult things takes place in private, so wi-fi can take care of it. The same goes for processing power and cam quality - would be nice with better performance, but not really a deal breaker (already decent performance today)

Front cams are already here - have no idea why Apple is holding out? Maybe they only want their new tablets to have front cams? http://www.electronista.com/articles...rsized.iphone/

mrshine 01-13-2010 02:07 AM

Why would someone wanted dual core in phone?

I agree with the ATT service not being up to par for video conference.

But the 3 ppl in room...that's taking it too far.. You forget how many people actually have an iphone.

Sounds great :)

More Apple Tablet rumors - now from chief executive of France Telecom

Quote:

Jean-Pierre Elkabbach (the interviewer) : According to Le Point (a french magazine), your partner Apple will be launching a tablet
Stéphane Richard: Yes.
Jean-Pierre Elkabbach: ? equipped with a webcam.
Stéphane Richard: Yes.
Jean-Pierre Elkabbach: Will Orange customers also be able to enjoy it?
Stéphane Richard: Of course!, they will actually particularly enjoy it because the webcam will allow live video streaming. It?s a new take on mobile video-conferencing.

no way this will get to the US in the next 2 years at least.

the only markets that have 4G are sprint and verizon, none of which can work on the iPhone's platform

even if 4G would become available it would only be in major cities (clear.com has the most i've seen) and sure it would kill the battery life with the OLED screen.

DamianJ 01-13-2010 04:57 AM

LOLLING at dual core in a phone.

How funny.

The new iPhone will come out in June. As every new iPhone has for the last 3 years.

It didn't disappear. My phone can do it (most nokias can, I think). It's just that nobody uses it.

I think more people will use it, when its connected via the internet - ex. a skype client, or broadcasted via services like http://qik.com/ . This will deliver the video beyond specific mobile brand phones or specific phone companies.

The internet changes everything :2 cents:

acctman 01-13-2010 09:14 AM

At&t can barely handle the iPhone as of now on there 3G network how are they going to handle video chat and a 4g network? FAIL if its locked to AT&T only

Ummm... the videocalls in finland atleast work without any specific needs for specific operators, phones or software.. Just 2 phones capable of videocalls (most phonecompanies have these) and as far as I know all finnish carriers support video calls. They're not that much more expensive than regular calls either as far as I know.

Nobody just uses the videocall feature as I said.

No one really used their cams until programs like Skype and sites like Youtube came along... I know I had a cam in 1997, but my first cam2cam conversation was using Skype in 2006.

But of course no one are going to use the cam all the time - just like we are still writing this using text. The format you deliver information in depends on your purpose. You want to have some hot time with someone else, then I´m sure the format will change - just ask Skyy John :winkwink:
