I understand we have to have age verification if we want to run a porn site in German under .de domain name.

I think it woud be were the visitor has to accually pick a year born from a drop down menu...and then submit/click enter which acts as a signature that your of legal age.

There are several programs which offer an aVS. The big problem is that you need a face-to-face control. That means the surfer signs up to your program using an AVS gateway and usually has to verify that he is of legal age. This can be done by mail. It is called "PostIdent". The login data is delivered by mail and that is the biggest problem. The surfer wants to jerk off right away and does not want to wait two or three days.

There are other options which skip the mail, but they are more or less as slow as the PostIdent.

One common system is www.ueber18.de. I think they have replaced the PostIdent.
