Any experience with ONLINE SPORTS BETTING???

I plan on dropping some online wagers for this seasons NFL playoffs and NCAA mens bball for the first time.

Does anybody have any experience, advice, stories, bet preferences that they would like share with me.

Advice and picks for these 4 upcoming NFL wild card games this weekend would be appreciated.

Also, is bodog the way to go?

Thanks

IMO the 2 best sportbooks are

www.pinnaclesports.com

www.thegreek.com

In particular pinnacle usually provides better value AKA a 5 cent vig instead of the normal 10 cent vig, which is a big deal if you bet a lot.

Wizzo 01-07-2010 09:14 AM

PastorSinAlot 01-07-2010 09:15 AM

thegreek.com take bets from american
5dimes.com take bets from american and they both truthworthy
pinnaclesports is the best, but dont take bets from americans

You will have no problem with any of the three

PastorSinAlot 01-07-2010 09:16 AM

sports did a few tricks in the past, but are ok now

But you cant beat thegreek or 5dimes
check out sportsbookreview you can find history on the books

fris 01-07-2010 09:16 AM

yep sports.com is thebest, and if you have betting traffic dimecash.com ;)

My only other feedback is...dont bet an amount that would upset you to lose. Games are not worth risking thousands of dollars on, especially with all the bad calls, fixed games, no-shows & players bringing guns to the arena.

nothing makes you feel death like losing 3 grand because lebron james misses a free throw in the clutch.

troncarver 01-07-2010 10:11 AM

thanks for the responses so far

so why is sports.com better then bodog - both allow US based bets correct?

yea for my first week of betting i am going the conservative route

i have experience with gambling in general, including online and offline poker and my number one rule is only bring the amount of bankroll that wont upset you if you lose it

PastorSinAlot 01-07-2010 10:20 AM

sports is not the best nor is bodog,
I meet the people behind bodog, they use to be the top ten book, but slow pays dont make you a top ten book

Thegreek and 5dimes are 100 times better than them.

Bodog owes me money from promoting them. fuck them

hjnet 01-07-2010 10:21 AM

Yes, it's a great way to loose money :)

Bryan G 01-07-2010 10:24 AM

I used to try www.willhill.com

PastorSinAlot 01-07-2010 10:24 AM

5dimes and thegreek both take americans and can handle big bets, while bodog and sports have been known to cut shit. you can trust 20k in thegreek, you would be a fool to keep 20k in bodog

I haven't used Bodog in a long time, but I have heard a lot of people complaining about them taking forever to pay out. Their lines are also atrocious.

Like some other posters said, thegreek.com and 5dimes.com are the absolute best if you are in the US. I prefer 5dimes.com myself because they offer more lines on more sports, but you can't go wrong with either book. If you do go with 5dimes.com my recommendation is to take the reduced juice instead of a deposit bonus when you open your account. You will save a LOT of money over time with reduced juice...

PastorSinAlot 01-07-2010 10:25 AM

willhill is a good book for non americans
bet365 too for non americans

I haven't had to use any of my own money for bets for ages now. Almost a year i'd say.

I won a fair amount a while back online, and instead of banking it, i just use that to fund my betting habbits.

Sometimes i win a little more, sometimes i lose it. People have said to me it's stupid not banking some of it and it's pointless, but the way i see it, i'd be dipping into my own money every few days. The way it is now, i can have my fun betting, and it's not actually costing me a penny.

If i won a huge amount on something though, then of course i would bank some of the cash then...

For the lines, you really have to look around as they vary per game. Though, the more important factors should be ease of deposit and ease of payout, two things Sports.com is as solid as anyone on.

Also, go with Sports.com since if you run into any problems (you shouldn't) I can personally get it solved for you :winkwink:

I also created a GFYers promo code so you get a better signup bonus than usual: www.gfybets.com

If you are interested in promoting Sports.com than contact me keith AT sports.com

The reason why most books don't accept bets from Americans is because it is a felony to place bets online if you're an American. Please note that. :2 cents:

if you dont know what you're doing save your money. don't listen to anyone here about sports book. if you dont bet regularly and have a formula, dont mess around.

find an office pool.

i didn't see that sean and varius posted. not directed at them, im just saying if you are not a gambler for the rest of the season, dont lose your money on the playoffs.
