Climate change isn't about waking up one day and it's 10 degrees warmer.

people are stupid... really in general 99% are idiots.

Every winter the parots come out and make posts " oh look it snowed, so much for global warming"... "record cold today, global warming my ass" blah blah.

If the AVG temp for the YEAR warmed +5 degrees we would all be dead. Global warming doesn't mean it will never snow again or it will never get cold. It's more about climate change than everything getting hot. The WHOLE PLANET will warm but that will cause different things to happen in different locations, wet areas my have droughts, snow in tropical places, etc. etc. etc.

No one I am aware of has said that Polar Bears can't swim, indeed Polar Bears are quite adept natural swimmers. That has never been the point...

The argument is that the natural habitat of the Polar Bear is disappearing at an alarming rate. Even the Bush Administration EPA acknowledged this, even while refusing to place the blame on global warming.

The "Great Global Warming Swindle" has been pretty thoroughly debunked, as polemic pseudo-science, despite it's initial acceptance by many.

The only people that keep trotting out this anti-environmentalist tripe are people like OnWebCam (Birthers, etc), who believe that President Obama is not a U.S. citizen, and other such nonsense.

Granted, there is plenty of room for reasonable debate on either side of the global warming issue, however it is still ridiculous to commit environmental suicide...

If you notice, the people in the pictures are all ok with it. They have big snow blowers etc which must have been there before the picture. I know the Minneapolis one is no big deal. We get that every year and have for ever.

besides just making ignorant remarks or making fun of people let me ask you this:

do you think it's ok to continue to drive big trucks that do 15 mpg, pollute rivers or the oceans by not filtering waste water, burn oil and coal to generate electric power and so on and so on...

is that how you want to live or would you be ok with changing a few things to preserve this planet?

I think it would take a bit more than that to preserve the planet, though I don't disagree that every little helps (it's a Tesco conspiracy) I think to preserve the planet indefinitely we would probably need to kill off a good 6 billion people. But I don't see why that should be a problem, I mean we as a species do it to seals (and many other animals) when they over populate :-)

Preserving the Planet is more about how we live, how many water and energy we consume and most importantly: the source of the energy we consume. It does matter if you use renewable energy, nuclear energy or energy made from coal [most polluting FYI].

The question is not if global warming does exist or its pure fiction. the real question is if the change of the climate is because of human activities or is it natural?

Ask any dutch about global warming: I seriously doubt they don't take it serious. I was studying dam systems, water management and cross-border environmental issues @ .NL in 2005 and I happily noticed that generally the europian people (in average) take this issue much more seriously than the american or chinese.

...China produces most of their energy from coal, while for example France produces 0% of their energy from coal...

Coal fields are getting mined for 40-80 years [!!!] at one place, causing serious problems not just for the local nature but areas 20-40 kms from the mining zone. Simply because coal has to be mined DRY thus they have to pump the groundwater in a (big) circle around the mine and this causes dehydration in a huge zone around the mines. Considering this mining is not for a few months but Long Decades, you don't need to take acid to be able to imagine how this effects Mother Earth, right? ;) And this is just about mining the damn coal not 1) transporting 2) burning [turning to primary energy source] 3) transforming to more useful form of energy 4) transporting that energy or 5) consuming that energy... :2 cents:

The reason there's a move to change from the phrase "global warming" to the phrase "climate change" isn't due to any new information. It's due to people being twisted up to think that unless it gets warmer, there is nothing at all happening.

If someone who doesnt understand how temps at both ends of the scale fluctuate due to climate change, read up on the ocean currents and how they affect the worlds weather patterns.
