Mainstream torrent site Isohunt gets slammed by courts!
 

Old news now, but after reading that Isohunt owner Gary Fung faces loads of legal sanctions due to infringement and disabling access to it.

Fungs team tried to get away with it all and failed miserably. :winkwink: Do you think that 2010 shall bring the closure to torrent sites?

Not so soon and not for all of them. There'll probably be some exclusive ones still opened since you can't really stop piracy for good but I guess it'll be diminished considerably in the following years. Of course that may just be wishful thinking, we'll wait and see.

only the public trackers....private trackers will live forever.

But they are smaller so this helps.

I can see this going one way in the end. Isohunt argued that the content on the site was generated from the searches and they should not be blamed & should fall under DMCA's harbour. The judge said a final act of disablement should have been implied.

The worlds going good and theft is wrong. Paying the copyrights shall be a must be for 2010 :thumbsup
