Embedding videos for phones on wordpress?
 

What should i be using to embed the videos on a server into a wordpress blogpost?
Is there a plugin i should use for that?!

I have a couple test videos as mp4 on the server. But the only way i seem to be able to get them to play is by having some quicktime code, which places an ugly quicktime logo in the post people have to push, then the video plays.

Should be able to have a preview thumb, people click on it, and the video starts playing. Or even with textlinks?!

Help me out a bit.

Dont need something fancy, just want a blogpost which:

- Has a previewthumb i can manually add, clickable, video should play when clicked.
- Textlink like "play video on iphone" and "play video on other phone" or something, clickable, video should play when clicked.

Im kinda lost in this wordpress thing. I know its a long shot to ask for help on new years day, but well, lets give it a try. Maybe more people are working :)

From what I understand.... you just link to the mp4, no streaming.

Nope that isnt working. If i try that and test on my iphone it thinks it needs to download the videos instead of playing it.

does this look like a support forum? :p

Aye... that's the point, it's better if they download it. Streaming on phone sucks and it doesn't work across enough phone types and internet speeds can be a huge factor on phone streams.

So from what I can tell... downloads work better on the phone.

Dont think that works.
Most of the mobile sites arent going to let you download videos, always stream them, if im not completely wrong.

are you using any kind of mobile wordpress plugin?

Nope, just a custom design, and "what i think" is a custom thing to have embeds for mobile. Injects some quicktime code into the posts. But that one is obviously not working.

Atm i think i will have to give up on wordpress and ask konrad to make me another solution.
