PCI dual monitor + onboard video = 3 monitors?
Anyone know where I can figure this out?
I have an Acer Aspire AM1640-U1401A, using an NVIDEA GeForce 7600 GS to run dual monitors. I took it apart to add another video card to run 4 monitors, but there is no more video card slots! So... I still want at least one more monitor, is it possible to use my PCI card and my onboard video to make my third monitor work? |
There shouldn't be much of an issue adding in a PCI dual-card to work alongside the current PCI-e card for up to four displays.
Enabling the onboard may be tricky to get working, or it may not. It'll depend on how the system and OS reacts to the drivers and whether or not enabling the Onboard kills the PCI-e card from working. Is the goal to have 5 monitors? |
Thats how I used to have my rig... I had to change some settings in the bios I think in order to get it to run.. Used the onboard as the main monitor as I recall..

yes its possible.

Where is my 3rd monitor, GFY geeks? The goal is to have 3 monitors... 2 from my NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS card and one from my onboard video output. W.T.F. |

This really shouldn't be hard to setup at all. I've had it work right out of the box and had it take some fucking with settings but it obviously is possible. |
