Has anyone noticed the speed in which Google is indexing blog posts?
 

I am seeing under one hour on well/medium established blogs. Ranking for the terms just as quickly.

Dupe content doesn't seem to be a big factor in weather it gets indexed or not either.

I posted in a (non-adult) forum the other day asking for some information... Later in the day I was still doing some research on the exact topic, and all of a sudden that forum post was ranking #2-3 for those keywords.

Ok, I just did an experiment and saw a page indexed in ONE MINUTE. Ranking too.

More is going on with the caffine update than people realize.

How they are "crawling" the pages in totally new.

yes noticing some movement going on today. interesting how shit will shake up in a couple weeks.

WP Useronline shows googlebot hitting new posts(and any new page created by them, cats, tags etc) in 5-10 minutes for the last 3-4 months for me, I didn't look at it hard this last few days but if its faster then that I'd be pretty impressed.

Oh edit just to add also, dup content has never been a factor at time of indexing, it will matter later in the process.

google loves wp.

Ya I've had posts getting indexed within minutes. I noticed it a month or 2 ago.

the piss off is that extremely well written and researched pages on static sites are suffering, the internet and the whole world getting the "twitterized and facebooked mentality" is not a good thing

I have a new blog that I installed WP and plugins then wrote one post for. I didn't have time to finish it then so I left it. The site is half done and looks like shit and google already indexed it and it was ranking within 24 hours. Pretty wild.

is there a setting in wordpress to ping google? I know when you set up a wordpress install it asks you if you want to be indexed on google?

for some blogs it takes less than 5 seconds after publishing the post to show up in G.

We are making sales on items that are added a day earlier.
