If airlines offered flights with no security where you can get to the airport 20 minutes before your flight leaves, I'll bet 90% of flyers would do it.

It's a shame the USA doesn't have a high speed rail service like Japan does. The amount of jobs it would create would help out a lot of people and would save tons of fuel. All you need is one up and down each coast, one from cali to d.c. and from Chicago to Dallas

I believe they are working on that plan, but what if a high speed rail passenger wants to use the bathroom, or wants a blanket? Who will screen all of the high speed rail passengers? Will terrorists not be allowed on the train?

Would make the trip quicker and help people that are afraid of flying :1orglaugh

China now has the fastest - 360 km/h - does 1000 km in 3 hours. thats faster than flying when you also count the time for check in etc.

I love flying.
I just hate the long lines at the airport, the bad food, the dirty toilets, the noise so you can't sleep..
Even the smoking rooms are missing in planes :disgust

no blankets.. I'm always covered in them, those airplanes are freezing cold! electronics..well the only thing hat makes flying half bearable is watching my shows/movies on my ipod to pass the time..getting up the last hour.. umm..they expect me to hold my pee for an entire hour? yeah right LOL

and my #1 pet peeve about airports/flying: people who walk around the airport with those stupid neck pillows around their necks. you look like an idiot/asshole. I would never ever fuck a guy that wore one of those things when he was not in flight/sleeping! these people make me so angry I don't know why

I agree with all these and my natural defenses against them involve blankets and electronic devices. Headphones help drown out some of the sound, and they for sure put a stop to the talkers. Also blankets on planes help provide a barrier to prevent touching. When you get some hairy douchebag in short sleeves hoging the armrest your blanket is your best friend.

Taking these things away would really REALLY make me miserable.

The fact is no matter what TSA does terrorists will find a way. Just like when I used to smoke I would just stick my lighters in my pockets instead of my purse- went through security every time. Airport security doesn't seem to be getting more effective, it seems to only succeed at becoming a bigger pain in the ass for passengers.

I had someone in first class keep leaning over the seat divider and resting his head on my shoulder. I tried to be polite the first two or three times, but I finally had to yell at him to make him stop. My point being even when you pay through the nose to have more space you still have to battle space invaders. :Oh crap

This shit is just getting out of hand... I paid for the flight, I wanna do whatever the fuck I want on it. The current regulations are sufficient. It's the fucking TSA/Homeland that's not doing their job the taxpayers are paying for.

In the past, every time I had to take my shoes off at an airport I liked to think that the "shoe bomber" was, at that very moment, being dragged out of his cell for another beat down.

If the TSA implements this crap, the Nigerian piece of shit who precipitated it needs to have his ass kicked each and every fucking day until they plant his useless carcass six feet under.

I honestly don't mind it, I'd rather they create restrictions than let another piece of shit terrorist be successful in hijacking or blowing up a plane. Yeah it's an inconvenience, but don't blame TSA, blame the fucking Muslim asswipe terrorist and their gay religion.

The restrictions are pretty much useless. Restrictions didn't stop this Nigerian guy, passengers did. Restrictions didn't stop the shoe bomber, passengers did.

You may not have noticed it, but terrorists just come up with new tactics every time some new policy is implemented. Even if everyone is forced to travel naked, terrorists will just have bombs implanted subcutaneously. If everyone is forced to get a 24 hour medical exam before using a plane, terrorists will just go after bombs or trains.

Giving your 90 year old grandmother an anal probe every time she wants to board a plane does absolutely nothing to prevent terrorism. Its only use is to give the government and airlines the chance to say "we did everything we could" when shit does go wrong.

Two things that do help is getting good intel on radicals and having passengers be on the lookout. After 9/11, the latter isn't a problem, but the former... well, the Nigerian guy's own parents already warned the US embassy about him.

But by all means, keep supporting asinine measures that have no effect whatsoever other than to send out the message that "something is being done".

You're forgetting about all the people stopped in security checks before it even got to the point where passengers intervened. I agree that terrorist will find new ways, but that doesn't mean we stop implementing new restrictions that make it harder for them. We have no clue how many attempts may have been thwarted with added security, it's all but too easy to say they are ineffective.

IMO these Muslim clowns are for the most part retarded. Without the restrictions that were already put in place who knows how many more would have attempted attacks on planes.
